Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. They are part of the Western Division in the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL). Founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans, the team relocated to Kansas City in 1963 and became the Chiefs. Throughout their storied history, the Chiefs have achieved significant success. They have won three AFL Championships (in 1962, 1966, and 1969) before the AFL-NFL merger, and one Super Bowl Championship (in 1969) following the merger. Led by legendary head coach Hank Stram and highlighted by quarterback Len Dawson, the 1969 Chiefs secured their place in history by defeating the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. The Chiefs have also had a long list of notable players. From pivotal offensive stars like running back Jamaal Charles and tight end Tony Gonzalez to defensive standouts like linebacker Derrick Thomas and safety Eric Berry, the team has consistently fielded talented athletes.
