Jurors learned more about what may have motivated this TikTok star to plot and carry out the murders of his wife and her friend. According to his cousin, Ali got jealous that his wife was hanging out with another man after they separated. This was after Ali himself had sex with another woman in the couple's apartment.

The cross-examination on the lead detective came on day two of his testimony where he detailed what his investigation uncovered about the double homicide. Next, the State called in the forensic toxicologist who examined what was in the defendant's system when he was arrested. Her conclusion was that at the time of the murders of his wife and her friend, Ali Abulaban had cocaine in his system.

He was the lead investigator who outlined Ali Abulaban's double murder plot that ended the lives of his wife and her friend. The defense and prosecution painted the end of the Abulabans' relationship in two different Lights. The defense claimed things were amicable. The prosecution, on the other hand, argued the relationship was over, Ana wanted a divorce and that they weren't even living together.
