In this episode, it's all about the heat, and Essie brings on the heat with her love of spices. She prepares an authentic spicy African bean dish called "Red Red" then she cooks up a T-bone steak seasoned with Suya Rub, served with spinach.

S1, EP6 "Ghana Is My Love"

In this episode Essie introduces us to her Ghanaian culture, the history, and the food. She makes Banku which is a doughy mixture served alongside Grilled Tilapia. Then it's Abom, which is a sauce with spinach served with Cocoyam.

S1, EP7 "Simple and Delicious Dinner"

In this episode, Essie cooks and bakes a meal that is simple and fit for any night of the week. On the menu is Rack of Lamb with Pesto, served with Grilled Bok Choy. She tops things off with Tamarind Cake with a Chocolate Tamarind Glaze.

S1, EP8 "Family Favorites"

Essie dedicates this show to the special ladies in her life. She cooks up some of their favorite meals! Top of the list is Konkonte which is pounded dried cassava served with Peanut Butter Soup. Then she makes Eto, her plantain based Ghanaian dish.

If you like seafood, then you will love what Essie is cooking up in this episode. It's prawns in a Mango Coconut Chili Curry Sauce and a Creamy Pasta with Clams, Scallops, and Shrimp. Delicious, comfy, cozy, and saucy!

S1, EP15 "Cocktails and Appetizers"

Essie loves good cocktails, but she always wants to make sure there's good finger food to go along with the drinks. Her must have cocktail and food on this episode is a smooth and delicious Hibiscus drink served with her yummy Ghanaian Meat Pies.

Essie is celebrating two African cultures through food. She lays out dishes from Ghana and Ethiopia. She cooks up Caramelized Tomato Stew with Dried Herring as a nod to her Ghanaian roots, then she cooks up the Ethiopian favorite, Doro Wat.

Essie serves crispy Honey Garlic Cornish Hens with garlic rice and beans and pan roasted root vegetables.
