"The Reluctant Outdoorsman" documents the comedic exploits of an Outdoor Channel employee who gives up his desk job to experience wilderness adventures for the first time. The unscripted travelogue stars Tulsa, Okla., native Derek, a 9-to-5 "desk jockey" who doesn't hunt or fish, and he's never been camping. He is so uncomfortable in the outdoors, he avoids it altogether. But his sedentary existence changes by accepting his co-workers' dare, and the apprehensive suburbanite finds himself in some uncomfortable scenarios. Mentored by elite outdoorsmen, including Outdoor Channel stars Michael Waddell, Chris Brackett and Hal Shaffer, on a series of intense, grueling adventures, Derek hunts feral hogs with a crossbow, noodles for fish, rides bulls, hunts alligators and more.
