Portland detective Nick Burkhardt, descended from a long line of warriors known as Grimms, defends his city from magical creatures known as Wesen, which are part human and part animal. Fighting alongside his partner, Hank, colleague Sergeant Wu and friends Monroe and Rosalee, Nick faces off against internal and external forces, including his police captain, Sean Renard.

After a brutal attack in the woods, Nick and Hank discover a wesen disease that could be the inspiration behind the werewolf myth; Adalind may be able to get back what she wants through an alliance.

Hank and Nick suspect wesen of being involved in the death of a young woman who seems to have aged 70 years overnight; the duo turns to Rosalee for help in the investigation.

A preacher uses his Wesen identity to gain believers who are hellbent on protecting him; Capt. Renard continues his pursuit of power in local government; Eve gains access to Black Claw.

A severed head found under a bridge leads to a Japanese Wesen who is practicing an ancient tradition of revenge; Adalind goes back to her old law firm, where she must face Eve.
