Forensic Files
Eagle-eyed technical experts prove there is no such thing as a perfect crime as they assemble the pieces every criminal leaves behind. Dramatic crime re-creations and, sometimes, part of the investigations are a staple of the series. Some of the re-creations include alternate versions of the crimes, which are disproved by science. The show's episodes follow each case from the initial investigation until it reaches its legal resolution.
S4, EP1 "Invisible Intruder"
A mother claims that an intruder murdered her two sons, but lacking a motive, police use blood-spatter analysis and behavioral profiling to reconstruct a different scenario.
S6, EP4 "Hand Delivered"
San Diego police investigate the murder of a missing person whose hands turn up in a dumpster; an anonymous letter, containing details only the killer would know, offers clues to solving the case.
S8, EP18 "Smoke in Your Eyes"
The bodies of two young women are found in the ashes of an apartment fire.
S4, EP7 "Ties That Bind"
When a sexual predator murders two young boys in Nebraska, an obscure style of rope and forensic analysis lead to his arrest and conviction.
S14, EP21 "Expert Witness"
A killer assaults a young mother in her home, but despite meticulous washing of the crime scene, a single hair remains to lead authorities to the culprit.
S14, EP20 "Funeral Services"
Police discover a mask near the crime scene and hope that it leads to the killer of a funeral director.
S14, EP19 "Skeleton Key"
A woman goes missing for a month with the only clues being a set of keys, a fingerprint and a code.
