Columbo

"Columbo" isn't the typical detective whodunit TV show. On most detective shows, viewers don't know who committed the crime until the detective pieces the clues together and figures it out. On this show, however, viewers see the crime unfold at the beginning of most episodes, including who the perpetrator is. The mystery and fun for viewers is trying to spot the clues that will lead Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk) to discover the culprit and watching the tricks he uses to get a confession. Episodes of "Columbo" were movie-length and ran sporadically on multiple networks during its run.

S8, EP2 "Murder, Smoke and Shadows"

A Hollywood director tries to fool Columbo when a studio becomes a murder scene.

The disheveled detective gets some free advice from a world famous sex therapist.

S2, EP4 "Dagger of the Mind"

Columbo journeys to London to observe Scotland Yard, but winds up investigating murders committed by two Shakespearean actors.

S3, EP2 "Any Old Port in a Storm"

A wine connoisseur kills his playboy brother to prevent his selling the family winery to expiate his latest scandal.

S5, EP6 "Last Salute to the Commodore"

S5, EP5 "Now You See Him"

A magician claims an airtight alibi -- being sealed in a tank of water -- in the murder of a blackmailing associate.

S5, EP3 "Identity Crisis"

A cunning advertising consultant leading a double life as a spy tries to cover up the details of a homicide.
