Columbo

"Columbo" isn't the typical detective whodunit TV show. On most detective shows, viewers don't know who committed the crime until the detective pieces the clues together and figures it out. On this show, however, viewers see the crime unfold at the beginning of most episodes, including who the perpetrator is. The mystery and fun for viewers is trying to spot the clues that will lead Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk) to discover the culprit and watching the tricks he uses to get a confession. Episodes of "Columbo" were movie-length and ran sporadically on multiple networks during its run.

S2, EP4 "Dagger of the Mind"

Columbo journeys to London to observe Scotland Yard, but winds up investigating murders committed by two Shakespearean actors.

S3, EP2 "Any Old Port in a Storm"

A wine connoisseur kills his playboy brother to prevent his selling the family winery to expiate his latest scandal.

S3, EP7 "Swan Song"

A gospel singer kills his evangelist wife when she denies him more money and threatens blackmail.

S4, EP4 "Troubled Waters"

Columbo's Mexico cruise is disrupted when an automobile executive kills his blackmailing lover, the ship's singer, then frames a musician.
