In this comedy, married New York couple Paul and Jamie Buchman (Paul Reiser, Helen Hunt) share their lives and offer wit and wisdom about relationships. Paul is a documentary filmmaker and Jamie works as a public relations specialist. Together, they grow and mature as they learn the art of staying married and loving it. Along for the ride is their ever-tolerant dog, Murray; Jamie's best friend, Fran; Jamie's sister, Lisa; and Paul's cousin, Ira. Playing recurring characters on the series are veteran actors including Lisa Kudrow and Hank Azaria.

Jamie's new client is a sexy TV spy from the 1960s who was idolized by Paul and Ira when they were kids; they revert to their old ways and compete for the star's attention.
S2, EP6 "An Unplanned Child"
Paul is supposed to be baby-sitting his nephew on Halloween, but is working and forgets to tell Jamie. She ends up taking him trick or treating, and worries what will happen if she and Paul have a child of their own.
S2, EP7 "Natural History"
While visiting a museum, Jamie and Paul wonder about what brought them together. Jamie's convinced it was fate, which annoys Paul. He's also angry that she's spending more time with her friend than him. The pair discover they once met as children.
S2, EP8 "Surprise"
Jamie thinks Paul has arranged a surprise party for her 30th birthday, but in fact he has something different planned. It all goes wrong when they are accidentally separated on a crowded subway car en route to the surprise.
