The Goldbergs
In the 1980s, geeky Adam uses a video camera to document his family's crazy life. His mother, Beverly, is overprotective and lacks boundaries, while his dad has a hot temper and finds it difficult to parent without screaming. Rounding out the clan are Adam's terrifying sister, Erica; his older brother, Barry, who has middle-child syndrome; and the family's beloved grandfather, Al "Pops" Solomon. Pops is responsible for wild antics, including offering drinks to Barry and teaching Adam about the ways of love -- which create more chaos in an already high-strung family.

Adam gets in trouble with Beverly after he portrays her as a monster while writing a horror story; Erica forces Barry to attend a costume dance with her.
S6, EP1 "Sixteen Candles"
When Beverly and Murray are too distracted by Barry's engagement and Erica's ambitions to remember Adam's 16th birthday, Adam takes the opportunity to ask Erica for help with his social life; Beverly thinks she can scare Barry and Lainey straight.
S4, EP1 "Breakfast Club"
Adam tries to up his coolness level on the first day of high school; Beverly gets her teaching certification but is subsequently demoted to sub-janitor; the Goldberg kids are sent to Saturday detention.
S4, EP2 "I Heart Video Dating"
Erica and Lainey use technology to find a woman for Bill, while Beverly intends to find someone the old-fashioned way; Barry decides he wants to be a gym teacher and begins an apprenticeship with coach Mellor.
