On this episode of Lens of Culture Tai and Elton take on the big easy in a big way. They kick off the show with the best Swamp tour ever in Laplace, Louisiana. And things really get lit as they travel up the Bayou for an alligator adventure.
S1, EP2 "Brooklyn"
Tai and Elton head out and hit everything happening in Brooklyn. They kick off things in Fort Green at The MoCADA Brooklyn Museum, where they get to preview their latest exhibit featuring our culture around the iconic movie Do The Right Thing.
S1, EP3 "Puerto Rico"
Tai and Elton are packing their bags and heading to Puerto Rico for this episode of Lens of Culture. They are heading to the Northern coast of Puerto Rico to a little town called Loiza. The town has been the Afro-Caribbean soul of Puerto Rico.
S1, EP4 "Palm Springs/Joshua Tree"
Tai and Elton venture out into sunny Southern California and take us to Palm Springs for some adventure and some good old fashioned fun in the sun. Elton and friends take over Joshua Tree Acres and they find the perfect airstreams!
S1, EP10 "Harlem"
Tai and Elton head to Harlem. They start with a Hip Hop tour complete with music, and graffiti art. Elton stops at Flamekeepers Hat Club, and Tai meets with some fashion insiders. They wrap up at Red-Rooster restaurant for live music.
S1, EP9 "Accra/Ghana"
Tai and Elton head to Accra, Ghana. They stop at the market and shop for souvenirs, and sample Kelewele and Jollof Rice at a local market hot spot. They get a dance and drumming lesson, and later explore the hidden fashion scene.
S1, EP8 "St. Thomas"
Tai and Elton hit the streets in the island of St. Thomas. They sample authentic island food from Mommas Restaurant, Gladys, and My Brother's Workshop Cafe. Then they head to The Black Power Theatre, for poetry and culture.
S1, EP7 "Ghana"
Tai and Elton go on a cultural tour of Ghana, West Africa. They attend a traditional African dubar, and get official African names. They also get a lesson in authentic African cooking, and clothing design, and party at a Street Festival.
S1, EP6 "Tom Joyner Cruise"
Its a Party with a Purpose on the Tom Joyner Foundation Fantastic Voyage Cruise! Tai and Elton jump into the fun visiting with artists and chefs and a cliff dive in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
S1, EP5 "Philadelphia"
Tai and Elton hit the streets in Philadelphia also known as the City of Brotherly Love, and Sisterly Affection. They kick things off with a riding lesson at the Chamounix Equestrian Riding Center then head to the Colored Girls Museum for a VIP tour.
