The U.S. Coast Guard is tasked with keeping America's waterways safe, enforcing maritime laws and saving those in danger on the water. The docuseries follows men and women of the 7th Coast Guard District, which is responsible for 1.8 million square miles, including more than 9,500 miles of shoreline of the southeastern and Gulf coasts. The crew's assignments come out of the district's three bases, located in Clearwater, Fla., the Keys, and the Miami Everglades. The crews keep busy with approximately 2,000 commercial vessels and 2 million recreational boats included in their area of responsibility. The dangers that the crews face on the water include, at times, perilous weather conditions while performing their duties.

The Coast Guard takes to the waters off the vast Florida coast to fight and apprehend drug smugglers, save a vessel in distress, and rescue a diver with a collapsed lung.

The Coast Guard deals with two fires; the search the high seas for lost divers; a victim injured by a boat propeller.

The Coast Guard is sent out to recover one victim in the water by night, but then save another two in the seas by day. They also race to the rescue to relieve a man suffering from severe acid burns on a commercial tugboat.

Air Station Clearwater races to save the lives of three victims suffering from life-threatening conditions on vessels far from land. Station Key West answers a search & rescue call and recovers some drifting drugs.

A report of a missing aircraft; a man may be experiencing a heart attack on a boat far out at sea; a special rescue training mission.

Air Station Miami races to save a man involved in a boating accident; the Clearwater Coast Guard faces challenging weather as they try to prevent a vessel from sinking; the Guards race to help a man who has cut off his thumb.

A suspect has jumped in shark-infested waters; a vessel with a captain in cardiac distress; a call for help.
