Prosecutors contended that Karen Read was flirting with him in text messages in the days leading up to her boyfriend's death. But those texts suddenly stopped after he died. Brian Higgins admitted to jurors that he was a bit embarrassed by his texts to Karen read. He claimed John O'Keefe was his friend and that texting with her was not a good look.
