During the regular season, teams play for their respective conferences in an effort to win their conference championship and compete for an at-large bid to the Tournament. The post-season also features the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) and conference tournaments that determine which teams qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Tournament is a single-elimination tournament made up of 64 teams that includes conference champions plus 31 other teams chosen by a selection committee. The tournament culminates in the Women’s Final Four, which is a highly anticipated event that brings together the best college teams in the nation to compete for the national championship.\n\nThere are several top contenders in the Women's College Basketball world right now, including Breanna Stewart and Nikkie Caldwell from UConn, Notre Dame’s Natalie Achonwa, and Baylor’s Odyssey Sims. All four of these standouts were recently selected in the first round of the 2014 WNBA draft. Other top players and their respective teams include Brittany Griner with the Baylor Bears, Skylar Diggins with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Chiney Ogwumike with the Stanford Cardinal.\n\nWomen's college basketball is a historic and cherished sport that has been around since the 1940's. The inaugural women’s championship in 1982 marked the birth of the Women’s NIT Tournament, the predecessor to the current NCAA tournament. In 1987, the first NCAA Women's Basketball Division I and II was officially established. The game continues to amaze fans with its undeniable intensity and athletes who possess unparalleled skills. The Seminoles (12-2, 2-0 ACC) look to keep rolling as they host the Orange (6-7, 0-2). Florida State racked up a fourth straight win by beating Virginia Tech 105-74 on Jan. 2. FSU star Ta'Niya Latson went off for a career-high 40 points in that game.

The Demon Deacons (7-6, 0-2 ACC) seek some offense when they face the Cardinals (9-4, 2-1). Wake Forest is scoring just 62 points per game, with no player posting a double-digit average. Louisville is 11-1 against Wake Forest since joining the ACC.

The Panthers (8-7, 0-2 ACC) face a stiff test as they visit the No. 14 Blue Devils (11-3, 2-0). Duke is a perfect 16-0 against Pittsburgh all-time after last season's 69-38 dismantling. Reigan Richardson led Duke with 17 points in that triumph.
