Women's College Basketball is a fast-paced and intense sport that has been gaining a lot of attention in recent years. Every season features some of the best and brightest young female athletes in the world as they showcase their extraordinary skills on the court. There are numerous collegiate teams competing in the NCAA Women's Basketball Division I and II with top programs such as UConn Huskies, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Baylor Lady Bears, Louisville Cardinals, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, Stanford Cardinals, Oregon State Beavers, and many more. The regular season for Women's College Basketball begins in November and concludes with the Big Dance: the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. During the regular season, teams play for their respective conferences in an effort to win their conference championship and compete for an at-large bid to the Tournament. The post-season also features the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) and conference tournaments that determine which teams qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Tournament is a single-elimination tournament made up of 64 teams that includes conference champions plus 31 other teams chosen by a selection committee. The tournament culminates in the Women’s Final Four, which is a highly anticipated event that brings together the best college teams in the nation to compete for the national championship. There are several top contenders in the Women's College Basketball world right now, including Breanna Stewart and Nikkie Caldwell from UConn, Notre Dame’s Natalie Achonwa, and Baylor’s Odyssey Sims. All four of these standouts were recently selected in the first round of the 2014 WNBA draft. Other top players and their respective teams include Brittany Griner with the Baylor Bears, Skylar Diggins with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Chiney Ogwumike with the Stanford Cardinal. Women's college basketball is a historic and cherished sport that has been around since the 1940's. The inaugural women’s championship in 1982 marked the birth of the Women’s NIT Tournament, the predecessor to the current NCAA tournament. In 1987, the first NCAA Women's Basketball Division I and II was officially established. The game continues to amaze fans with its undeniable intensity and athletes who possess unparalleled skills. Women's College BasketballDeYona Gaston and the Tigers (12-13, 3-9 SEC) host Khamil Pierre and the Commodores (18-7, 5-6). Gaston, a senior forward, and Pierre, a sophomore forward, are among the leading scorers in the nation at 22 and 21.3 points per game, respectively.
Clemson at SMU
Women's College BasketballThe Tigers and Mustangs meet for the first time in an ACC affair. SMU is stuck on a nine-game slide. Clemson snapped a four-game losing streak with a 68-61 win over No. 19 Georgia Tech on Feb. 13 behind Tessa Miller's 18 points and eight rebounds.
Nebraska at Illinois
Women's College BasketballThe streaking Fighting Illini (20-5, 10-4 Big Ten) welcome the Cornhuskers (17-8, 8-6) to State Farm Center. Illinois has racked up seven straight victories, but Nebraska has won 10 of the last 12 meetings. Illinois is 13-2 at home this season.
Syracuse at California
Women's College BasketballThe Orange complete their first ACC trip to the Bay Area by playing the Golden Bears at Haas Pavilion. California won the only meeting, 57-53 in 2002. The Golden Bears joined the ACC this season after competing in the Pac-10 or Pac-12 since 1986.
USC at Washington
Women's College BasketballThe No. 6 Trojans visit the Huskies for a Big Ten game. USC comes off one of the biggest wins in program history, using a 24-8 fourth quarter to hand rival No. 1 UCLA its first loss of the season, 71-60. JuJu Watkins led USC with 38 points.

Nebraska at Maryland
Women's College BasketballThe Terrapins host the Cornhuskers. Maryland comes off sweeping a pair of games in the Pacific Northwest. Canadian Sarah Te-Biasu (MD) scored a season-high 26 points on Feb. 6. Teammate Kaylene Smikle went one better with a career-best 36 on Feb. 9.
Notre Dame at Pittsburgh
Women's College BasketballHannah Hidalgo and the No. 2 Fighting Irish roll into this date with the Panthers. Notre Dame has won 16 in a row, while Hidalgo is a hair off of the national lead with 25.9 points per game. Notre Dame has also won seven straight versus Pittsburgh.
Mississippi State at Vanderbilt
Women's College BasketballThe Bulldogs visit the Commodores. Mississippi State had won nine consecutive meetings until Vanderbilt claimed the lone engagement in 2023-24. The Commodores' Mikayla Blakes averages 22.1 points per game, while teammate Khamil Pierre sits at 21.2.

Women's College BasketballThe Orange play their first ACC game in the Bay Area as they visit the Cardinal. The Orange have won two straight and three of their last four. Syracuse sophomore Sophie Burrows averages 11.6 points per outing after recording 65 over her last three.
