The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is a professional basketball league in the United States that was established in 1996. The league is composed of twelve teams; Atlanta Dream, Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Dallas Wings, Indiana Fever, Las Vegas Aces, Los Angeles Sparks, Minnesota Lynx, New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury, Seattle Storm, and Washington Mystics. All teams are owned by the National Basketball Association (NBA). The WNBA season is 34 games over 17 weeks, running from late-May to mid-August. The Playoffs start with the four best teams from each conference competing in a single-elimination tournament. The two conference champions advance to the Finals and play a best-of-five series to determine the league champion. The WNBA has produced some of the biggest stars in the sport, many of whom have become household names. Players like Maya Moore, Candace Parker and Diana Taurasi have all captivated audiences with their skill and athleticism. This talent is demonstrated every year by the All-Star Game, which showcases the best players in the league. A number of awards are given out over the course of the season, including Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year and the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award. Since its inaugural season, the WNBA has become one of the most competitive and successful women's sports leagues in the world. Over the years, it has vastly increased the number of players, teams, fans and even media attention that it has received. The league has surpassed many milestones such as the one million mark for attendance, an increase in television ratings, and the introduction of new rules that have enhanced the game and driven the WNBA to even greater heights. Today, the WNBA is the premier destination for female professional basketball players, and has taken a major step forward in promoting gender equality in the sport. The league continues to challenge the cultural barriers and advocate for women around the world. Minnesota Lynx at Atlanta Dream

The Dream continue their playoff push by facing the Lynx. Minnesota is 3-0 versus Atlanta in 2024, with Kayla McBride averaging 23 points per game in that stretch. Rhyne Howard (ATL) netted a season-high 33 points during her last home match Sept. 6.

New York Liberty at Dallas Wings

The Liberty and Wings play the first of a two-game series at the College Park Center. New York was victorious in both legs of a two-match set at home against Dallas in August. Breanna Stewart (NYL) averaged 22.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in the wins.

Indiana Fever at Minnesota Lynx

The Lynx take another shot at the Fever in the Gopher State. Indiana escaped Minnesota with an 81-74 victory on July 14 courtesy of Aliyah Boston's 17 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. The Fever are 2-0 since returning from the Olympic break.

Indiana Fever at Atlanta Dream

Rookie sensation Caitlin Clark and the Fever try to maintain their grip on the Dream. Indiana won both meetings this season. Clark has already broken several records, including fastest player in WNBA history to reach 400 points and 200 assists.

Connecticut Sun at Indiana Fever

The Fever, looking to snap a lengthy slide against their foes, welcome the Sun to the Hoosier State. Since the start of 2017, Connecticut has won 22 of the 25 meetings with Indiana, including all three this season to maintain an 11-game win streak.

Indiana Fever at Dallas Wings

The red-hot Fever fly into the Lone Star State for a contest against the Wings. Indiana's attempt to finish at .500 or better for the first time since 2016 has gained steam in the second half of the season. Dallas defeated Indiana 101-93 on July 17.
