The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFL is one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world, with fans and players from around the globe.\n\nThe regular season of the NFL runs from early September to mid December, consisting of 17 weeks of games. Each team plays 16 games out of their respective conference and has one bye week to rest and prepare for the rest of the season. At the end of the regular season, the top six teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs are single-elimination brackets, which determine the two teams that will play in the championship game, the Super Bowl.\n\nThe NFL has a long and distinguished history. It was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association before changing its name to the National Football League in 1922. The first Super Bowl was held in 1967 and has since become the most watched sporting event in the world. Legendary players like Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and Lawrence Taylor are considered some of the greatest players in the history of the league. Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers
NFLThe Chiefs (14-1) and Steelers (10-5) meet on Christmas Day in the first NFL game shown on Netflix. Pittsburgh fell into a tie with Baltimore atop the AFC North with a 34-17 loss on Dec. 21, while Kansas City is coasting towards the AFC's top seed.
Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears
NFLThe Bears host the Seahawks on Boxing Day. Seattle is at risk of falling out of the NFC playoff race after dropping two in a row. Chicago has lost nine straight despite rookie quarterback Caleb Williams not throwing an interception in that stretch.
Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers
NFLLos Angeles (8-6) and Denver (9-5) clash in a crucial AFC West tilt on Thursday Night Football. The Broncos have won four in a row after taking out a team nipping at their heels in the Colts, 31-13 in Week 15. The Chargers prevailed 23-16 in Week 6.
Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots
NFLThe Chargers head east to visit the Patriots. Los Angeles (9-6) all but assured a playoff berth with a gutsy 34-27 win over rival Denver on Dec. 19. Los Angeles blanked New England 6-0 on Dec. 3, 2023, the first Bolts shutout of the Pats since 1966.
Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals
NFLThe high-octane Bengals host the Broncos. Denver had a four-game win streak snapped following its Thursday night outing with Los Angeles in Week 16. Bo Nix (DEN) has thrown double the amount of TDs (22) to interceptions (11) during his rookie season.

NFLTwo 6-8 teams in desperate need of a win come together as the Dolphins host the 49ers. Miami scored at least 32 points in winning each of its last three home outings. San Francisco has lost four of its last five to slip to the cellar of the NFC West.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Las Vegas Raiders
NFLLas Vegas and Jacksonville play out the string together at Allegiant Stadium. The Jaguars took the last two clashes with the Raiders, most recently in 2022. Jags rookie Brian Thomas Jr. caught 10 passes for 105 yards and two TDs in a loss Dec. 15.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys
NFLTampa Bay visits Dallas. The Buccaneers are 4-0 since their bye after blasting the Chargers 40-17 in Week 15. Future Hall of Famer Mike Evans turned nine catches into 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns in that win. Dallas cruised past Carolina 30-14.
