The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFL is one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world, with fans and players from around the globe.\n\nThe regular season of the NFL runs from early September to mid December, consisting of 17 weeks of games. Each team plays 16 games out of their respective conference and has one bye week to rest and prepare for the rest of the season. At the end of the regular season, the top six teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs are single-elimination brackets, which determine the two teams that will play in the championship game, the Super Bowl.\n\nThe NFL has a long and distinguished history. It was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association before changing its name to the National Football League in 1922. The first Super Bowl was held in 1967 and has since become the most watched sporting event in the world. NFLThe Chargers head east to visit the Patriots. Los Angeles (9-6) all but assured a playoff berth with a gutsy 34-27 win over rival Denver on Dec. 19. Los Angeles blanked New England 6-0 on Dec. 3, 2023, the first Bolts shutout of the Pats since 1966.

NFLThe high-octane Bengals host the Broncos. Denver had a four-game win streak snapped following its Thursday night outing with Los Angeles in Week 16. Bo Nix (DEN) has thrown double the amount of TDs (22) to interceptions (11) during his rookie season.
Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams
NFLThe Rams (9-6) continue their bid for the NFC West title by hosting the Cardinals (7-8). The Rams took a big step with a 19-9 win at the Jets in Week 16. Arizona was eliminated from playoff contention with a 36-30 loss in overtime at Carolina.
New York Jets at Buffalo Bills
NFLThe AFC East champion Bills (12-3) can wrap up the No. 2 seed with a victory over the Jets (4-11). Buffalo's NFL record-tying eight straight games with 30-plus points came to an end with a workmanlike 24-21 victory over New England in Week 16.
Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
NFLThe Buccaneers try to keep their NFC South title hopes alive as they host the Panthers. Tampa Bay lost control of its own destiny with a 26-24 defeat at Dallas in Week 16. The Bucs, tied for first with the Falcons, fell twice to Atlanta this season.
