NFL

The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFL is one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world, with fans and players from around the globe. The regular season of the NFL runs from early September to mid December, consisting of 17 weeks of games. Each team plays 16 games out of their respective conference and has one bye week to rest and prepare for the rest of the season. At the end of the regular season, the top six teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs are single-elimination brackets, which determine the two teams that will play in the championship game, the Super Bowl. The NFL has a long and distinguished history. It was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association before changing its name to the National Football League in 1922. The first Super Bowl was held in 1967 and has since become the most watched sporting event in the world. Legendary players like Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and Lawrence Taylor are considered some of the greatest players in the history of the league. The NFL boasts some of the most successful teams in sports history, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and the New England Patriots. The NFL is renowned as one of the premier leagues in the world of professional American football, with an emphasis on competitive and thrilling entertainment. The season culminates in a grand finale, the Super Bowl, which has become one of the most prestigious and highly watched events on television. Houston Texans at New England Patriots

Drake Maye makes his NFL debut as his Patriots host the Texans. Maye, the third-overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, takes over at quarterback. Houston is without Nico Collins for at least four games after placing the star receiver on injured reserve.

New England Patriots vs Jacksonville Jaguars

The Patriots (1-5) limp across the pond to play the equally troubled Jaguars (1-5) at Wembley Stadium. Jacksonville is 6-6 in London after a discouraging 35-16 loss to Chicago in Week 6. New England fell to Indianapolis 10-6 in Germany last season.

Houston Texans at Green Bay Packers

C.J. Stroud and the AFC South-leading Texans (5-1) line up against Jordan Love and the Packers (4-2). Stroud has thrown six touchdown passes during Houston's three-game win streak. Love tossed six in the last two contests, both Green Bay victories.

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills

NFL

Buffalo returns home to play Tennessee. The Bills snapped a two-game slide by beating the Jets 23-20 on Monday night in Week 6. Josh Allen had a role in all three Buffalo touchdowns. The Titans, fresh off their bye week, lost to the Colts 20-17.

Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns

NFL

The Bengals visit the Browns for a renewal of the Battle of Ohio. Cincinnati snapped a 75-game streak of allowing at least 10 points by shutting down the New York Giants 17-7 in Week 6. Cincinnati seeks its first victory in Cleveland since 2017.

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings (5-0) welcome the Lions (4-1) to U.S. Bank Stadium for an NFC North showdown. Detroit racked up 89 points in winning its last two games, including 47-9 at Dallas in Week 6. Minnesota and Kansas City are the NFL's only undefeated teams.
