NFL

The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFL is one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world, with fans and players from around the globe. The regular season of the NFL runs from early September to mid December, consisting of 17 weeks of games. Each team plays 16 games out of their respective conference and has one bye week to rest and prepare for the rest of the season. At the end of the regular season, the top six teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs are single-elimination brackets, which determine the two teams that will play in the championship game, the Super Bowl. The NFL has a long and distinguished history. It was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association before changing its name to the National Football League in 1922. The first Super Bowl was held in 1967 and has since become the most watched sporting event in the world. Legendary players like Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and Lawrence Taylor are considered some of the greatest players in the history of the league. The NFL boasts some of the most successful teams in sports history, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and the New England Patriots. The NFL is renowned as one of the premier leagues in the world of professional American football, with an emphasis on competitive and thrilling entertainment. The season culminates in a grand finale, the Super Bowl, which has become one of the most prestigious and highly watched events on television. The NFL has become an international cultural phenomenon, with fans from all around the world tuning in to watch and rooting for their favorite teams. Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys

The Ravens (0-2) limp into Dallas for a game against the Cowboys (1-1). Baltimore followed a 27-20 season-opening loss at Kansas City with a stunning setback against Las Vegas 26-23. Dallas was emphatically upset by New Orleans 44-19 in Week 2.

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams

The Rams host the 49ers. San Francisco's Christian McCaffrey moved to the injured reserve Sept. 14, while teammate Deebo Samuel is expected to be out multiple weeks with a calf strain. Cooper Kupp (LAR) will miss time with a left-ankle sprain.

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints

The Saints host the Eagles. New Orleans led the NFL with 91 points scored following a 44-19 rout of Dallas in Week 2. Alvin Kamara (NO) scored four TDs in the win. Philadelphia had an opportunity to secure a victory versus Atlanta, but lost 22-21.

Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons

The Chiefs visit the Falcons. Atlanta is in prime time for a second straight week after taming Philadelphia on Sept. 16. Kansas City will be without Isiah Pacheco for at least six weeks after the running back suffered a fractured fibula in Week 2.

Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers provide the opposition for the Steelers' home opener in a battle of unbeaten clubs. J.K. Dobbins rushed for more than 130 yards and scored for a second straight game as Los Angeles took down Carolina on Sept. 15.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions

The Lions host the Buccaneers in a rematch of their 2023 NFC divisional playoff. Detroit prevailed 31-23 in that match. The Lions needed overtime to win a different postseason replay over the Rams in Week 1. Tampa Bay breezed past Washington 37-20.

New England Patriots at New York Jets

The Jets are free to fly a little higher in their home opener against the Patriots. New York snapped a 15-game series slide last season with its first victory over New England since 2015. Aaron Rodgers led New York past Tennessee 24-17 in Week 2.

Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley and the Eagles (1-0) return to North America to host the Falcons (0-1) on Monday Night Football. Barkley totaled 132 yards from scrimmage and found the end zone three times in Philadelphia's 34-29 triumph over Green Bay in Brazil.

New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott's Cowboys host the Saints. On Sept. 8, Prescott inked a new four-year pact that gives him the highest annual salary in NFL history hours before a 33-17 win in Cleveland. New Orleans faced little difficulty in routing Carolina 47-10.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs

The Bengals try to shake off a brutal Week 1 loss as they visit the well-rested Chiefs. Cincinnati was stunned at home by New England 16-10 in its season opener. Kansas City rebuffed Baltimore 27-20 at Arrowhead in the NFL Kickoff Game on Sept. 5.

Houston Texans at Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings host the Texans. Justin Jefferson left the Week 2 contest versus San Francisco with an injury, but Sam Darnold's two TD passes helped Minnesota stay perfect with a 23-17 verdict. Houston moved to 2-0 by beating Chicago in prime time.
