The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFL is one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world, with fans and players from around the globe. The regular season of the NFL runs from early September to mid December, consisting of 17 weeks of games. Each team plays 16 games out of their respective conference and has one bye week to rest and prepare for the rest of the season. At the end of the regular season, the top six teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs are single-elimination brackets, which determine the two teams that will play in the championship game, the Super Bowl. The NFL has a long and distinguished history. It was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association before changing its name to the National Football League in 1922. The first Super Bowl was held in 1967 and has since become the most watched sporting event in the world. Legendary players like Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and Lawrence Taylor are considered some of the greatest players in the history of the league. The NFL boasts some of the most successful teams in sports history, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and the New England Patriots. The NFL is renowned as one of the premier leagues in the world of professional American football, with an emphasis on competitive and thrilling entertainment. The season culminates in a grand finale, the Super Bowl, which has become one of the most prestigious and highly watched events on television. The NFL has become an international cultural phenomenon, with fans from all around the world tuning in to watch and rooting for their favorite teams. Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons
NFLBaker Mayfield and the Buccaneers (3-1) battle the Falcons (2-2) on Thursday Night Football. Mayfield threw for 347 yards and two TDs to help Tampa Bay bounce back versus Philadelphia 33-16 in Week 4. Atlanta outlasted bitter rival New Orleans 26-24.
Houston Texans at Green Bay Packers
NFLC.J. Stroud and the AFC South-leading Texans (5-1) line up against Jordan Love and the Packers (4-2). Stroud has thrown six touchdown passes during Houston's three-game win streak. Love tossed six in the last two contests, both Green Bay victories.
Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals
NFLSaquon Barkley's Eagles visit the Bengals. In Week 7, Barkley ran all over his former team for 176 yards and a touchdown as Philadelphia won 28-3 in New York. Cincinnati, like Philly, has won three of its past four after surviving Cleveland 21-14.
Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns
NFLThe Browns (1-6) turn the page against the Ravens (5-2) in an AFC North tilt. Cleveland lost Deshaun Watson for the season after the quarterback suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon Oct. 20. Watson did not crack 200 yards passing in a game this year.
Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans
NFLThe Texans (5-2) try for a rare three-game win streak against the Colts (4-3). Houston has beaten Indianapolis three straight times once in franchise history (2015-2016). The Texans topped the Colts 29-27 in Week 1. Houston is 3-0 at NRG Stadium.
New York Jets at New England Patriots
NFLThe Jets (2-5) try to sweep the rival Patriots (1-6). New York fell 37-15 to Pittsburgh in prime time Oct. 20, its fourth straight loss. Davante Adams, acquired from Las Vegas on Oct. 15, caught three passes for 30 yards in his New York debut.
Green Bay Packers at Jacksonville Jaguars
NFLThe Jaguars (2-5) return to the U.S. to face the Packers (5-2). Green Bay has won three straight after a 24-22 walk-off victory over Houston in Week 7. Jacksonville salvaged a 1-1 trip to London with a 32-16 win over New England at Wembley Stadium.

Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
NFLDerrick Henry and the Ravens (4-2) seek a fifth straight victory as they visit the Buccaneers (4-2). Henry leads the NFL in rushing yards (704) and touchdowns (eight) after collecting 132 yards and two scores in a 30-23 triumph over Washington.

NFLThe two-time defending champion Chiefs (5-0) visit the 49ers (3-3) in a rematch of Super Bowls 54 and 58. Kansas City won both in its run of three titles in the last five years. The Chiefs took Week 6 off while the 49ers subdued the Seahawks 36-24.
Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings
NFLThe Vikings (5-0) welcome the Lions (4-1) to U.S. Bank Stadium for an NFC North showdown. Detroit racked up 89 points in winning its last two games, including 47-9 at Dallas in Week 6. Minnesota and Kansas City are the NFL's only undefeated teams.
