NFL

The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFL is one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world, with fans and players from around the globe. The regular season of the NFL runs from early September to mid December, consisting of 17 weeks of games. Each team plays 16 games out of their respective conference and has one bye week to rest and prepare for the rest of the season. At the end of the regular season, the top six teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs are single-elimination brackets, which determine the two teams that will play in the championship game, the Super Bowl. The NFL has a long and distinguished history. It was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association before changing its name to the National Football League in 1922. The first Super Bowl was held in 1967 and has since become the most watched sporting event in the world. Legendary players like Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and Lawrence Taylor are considered some of the greatest players in the history of the league. The NFL boasts some of the most successful teams in sports history, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and the New England Patriots. The NFL is renowned as one of the premier leagues in the world of professional American football, with an emphasis on competitive and thrilling entertainment. The season culminates in a grand finale, the Super Bowl, which has become one of the most prestigious and highly watched events on television. The NFL has become an international cultural phenomenon, with fans from all around the world tuning in to watch and rooting for their favorite teams. Buffalo Bills at Seattle Seahawks

First-place clubs coming off victories collide as the AFC East-leading Bills (5-2) visit the NFC West-best Seahawks (4-3). Buffalo pulled away from Tennessee 34-10 in Week 7. Seattle surprised Atlanta 34-14. The Seahawks are 2-2 at Lumen Field.

Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders

NFL

The top two players taken in the 2024 NFL draft share the Northwest Stadium stage as the Bears (4-2) visit the Commanders (5-2). Washington native Caleb Williams was the No. 1 pick by Chicago. Jayden Daniels was selected next by the Commanders.

Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos

NFL

Javonte Williams and the Broncos welcome the Panthers to the Mile High City. Carolina is 0-3 all-time in Denver. Williams rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns as Sean Payton returned to New Orleans and won 33-10 on Thursday night in Week 7.

Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders

Kansas City aims to extend its recent run over rival Las Vegas. The Chiefs are 18-4 against the Raiders since the start of 2013. Kansas City is 6-0 for the first time since that season after winning its Super Bowl rematch with San Francisco, 28-18.

Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers

NFL

The Cowboys (3-3) and 49ers (3-4) limp into a prime-time match. Dallas took Week 7 off after getting demolished by Detroit 47-9. San Francisco is without wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk who tore his ACL and MCL in its Super Bowl rematch with Kansas City.

The Rams host the Vikings. In Week 7, both teams returned from bye, with Minnesota taking its first loss of the season 31-29 to Detroit, and Los Angeles outlasting Las Vegas 20-15. Kyren Williams (LAR) is tied for the NFL lead with eight rushing TDs.

Houston Texans at Green Bay Packers

C.J. Stroud and the AFC South-leading Texans (5-1) line up against Jordan Love and the Packers (4-2). Stroud has thrown six touchdown passes during Houston's three-game win streak. Love tossed six in the last two contests, both Green Bay victories.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons

Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers (3-1) battle the Falcons (2-2) on Thursday Night Football. Mayfield threw for 347 yards and two TDs to help Tampa Bay bounce back versus Philadelphia 33-16 in Week 4. Atlanta outlasted bitter rival New Orleans 26-24.

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

NFL

The Texans (5-2) try for a rare three-game win streak against the Colts (4-3). Houston has beaten Indianapolis three straight times once in franchise history (2015-2016). The Texans topped the Colts 29-27 in Week 1. Houston is 3-0 at NRG Stadium.

New York Jets at New England Patriots

NFL

The Jets (2-5) try to sweep the rival Patriots (1-6). New York fell 37-15 to Pittsburgh in prime time Oct. 20, its fourth straight loss. Davante Adams, acquired from Las Vegas on Oct. 15, caught three passes for 30 yards in his New York debut.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

NFL

The Browns (1-6) turn the page against the Ravens (5-2) in an AFC North tilt. Cleveland lost Deshaun Watson for the season after the quarterback suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon Oct. 20. Watson did not crack 200 yards passing in a game this year.

Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals

Saquon Barkley's Eagles visit the Bengals. In Week 7, Barkley ran all over his former team for 176 yards and a touchdown as Philadelphia won 28-3 in New York. Cincinnati, like Philly, has won three of its past four after surviving Cleveland 21-14.
