College football is a sport that has been played for over 150 years. It is one of the most popular and beloved sports in the United States, with hundreds of millions of fans cheering on their favourite college football teams every fall. College football is a game in which teams of student-athletes from universities and colleges compete against each other in an exciting and thrilling battle of offensive and defensive football. The sport consists of 11-on-11 matches, usually played on Saturdays during the fall months in stadiums across America. College football's regular season usually begins in late August or early September and ends in early December. The teams are decided by each school's football conference - e.g. the SEC, the ACC, the Big 12, the Big Ten and more. After the regular season, some teams will be chosen to compete in the post-season playoffs that will decide the national champion. The most popular college football teams in the country are Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, Florida Gators, Oklahoma Sooners, and LSU Tigers. Some of the most popular current college football players are Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence, Ian Book, Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts, and Jonathan Taylor. The history of College football is filled with legendary teams and players, such as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Michigan Wolverines, Charles Woodson, and Marcus Mariota. Some of the most memorable games in College Football history include the 1969 ‘Game of the Century’ between the Texas Longhorns and Arkansas Razorbacks, the 2006 Rose Bowl between USC and Texas, and the 2012 BCS National Championship Game between Alabama and Notre Dame. The No. 1 Bulldogs (2-0, 0-0 SEC) begin their conference slate by visiting the Wildcats (1-1, 0-1). Georgia hasn't lost to Kentucky since 2009, a run of 14 straight victories. Carson Beck threw four TD passes in the Bulldogs' 51-13 drubbing in 2023.

LSU at South Carolina

The Tigers (1-1) try to continue their mastery of the SEC rival Gamecocks (2-0). LSU leads the series 19-2-1 after totaling 243 points in winning the last seven meetings. LSU bounced back from a Week 1 loss to USC with a victory over Nicholls.

Alabama at Wisconsin

No. 4 Alabama (2-0) visits Camp Randall Stadium for the first time in 96 years to play Wisconsin (2-0). Alabama has piled up 105 points this season after a 42-16 victory over South Florida. Wisconsin owns a pair of 14-point decisions to start 2024.

Alabama-Birmingham at Arkansas

The Razorbacks welcome a challenge from the Blazers in a Week 3 clash of 1-1 programs. Arkansas came up short against then-No. 16 Oklahoma State in Week 2, 39-31. In the last meeting between these schools in 2014, Arkansas took down UAB 45-17.

Boston College at Missouri

The No. 24 Eagles line up with the No. 6 Tigers. Bill O'Brien has moved Boston College into the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2018 after routing FCS Duquesne 56-0. Missouri has yet to allow a point in 2024, shutting out Murray State and Buffalo.

Oregon at Oregon State

The No. 9 Ducks swim with the Beavers. Oregon fell in the AP Top 25 for a second straight week, but remained in the top 10 after surviving Boise State 37-34 on Sept. 7. Oregon State claimed the last two meetings with Oregon at Reser Stadium.

Toledo at Mississippi State

The Bulldogs try to pick up the pieces when they host the Rockets (2-0). Mississippi State stands at 1-1 after a comeback effort at Arizona State fell short on Sept. 7. Junior Vandeross III caught a touchdown pass in each of Toledo's two games.

Notre Dame at Purdue

The No. 18 Fighting Irish chase a bounce-back effort in this trip to play the Boilermakers. Notre Dame comes off a stunning 16-14 setback to Northern Illinois in its home opener. Purdue has been off since blasting Indiana State 49-0 on Aug. 31.

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati

Cincinnati hosts Pittsburgh. The Bearcats have won the past three meetings in a series first contested in 1921, including 27-21 in 2023. In Week 1, Eli Holstein's three TDs helped Pittsburgh pump Kent State 55-24, while Cincy took down Towson 38-20.

Arizona at Kansas State

No. 14 Kansas State and No. 20 Arizona meet in Big 12 play. Kansas State trailed by 10 at halftime at Tulane, but recovered to win 34-27 on Sept. 7. KSU's DJ Giddens, a Junction City, Kan., product, had 177 yards from scrimmage and scored a TD.
