College football is a sport that has been played for over 150 years. It is one of the most popular and beloved sports in the United States, with hundreds of millions of fans cheering on their favourite college football teams every fall. College football is a game in which teams of student-athletes from universities and colleges compete against each other in an exciting and thrilling battle of offensive and defensive football. The sport consists of 11-on-11 matches, usually played on Saturdays during the fall months in stadiums across America. College football's regular season usually begins in late August or early September and ends in early December. The teams are decided by each school's football conference - e.g. the SEC, the ACC, the Big 12, the Big Ten and more. After the regular season, some teams will be chosen to compete in the post-season playoffs that will decide the national champion. The most popular college football teams in the country are Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, Florida Gators, Oklahoma Sooners, and LSU Tigers. The history of College football is filled with legendary teams and players, such as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Michigan Wolverines, Charles Woodson, and Marcus Mariota. Some of the most memorable games in College Football history include the 1969 ‘Game of the Century’ between the Texas Longhorns and Arkansas Razorbacks, the 2006 Rose Bowl between USC and Texas, and the 2012 BCS National Championship Game between Alabama and Notre Dame. Quinn Ewers and the No. 3 Longhorns visit the Big House for a tilt with the No. 10 Wolverines. Texas won the only previous meeting, 38-37 in the 2005 Rose Bowl. Ewers threw three touchdown passes in Texas' 52-0 triumph over Colorado State in Week 1.

Kansas State at Tulane

The Green Wave run up against the No. 17 Wildcats in Week 2. Tulane blanked Southeastern Louisiana 52-0 in its opener, while Kansas State rolled past Tennessee-Martin 41-6. The Green Wave held off the Wildcats for a 17-10 victory in 2022.

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati

Cincinnati hosts Pittsburgh. The Bearcats have won the past three meetings in a series first contested in 1921, including 27-21 in 2023. In Week 1, Eli Holstein's three TDs helped Pittsburgh pump Kent State 55-24, while Cincy took down Towson 38-20.

Georgia Tech at Syracuse

The Orange host the No. 23 Yellow Jackets. Kyle McCord threw for four TDs in his Syracuse debut, a 38-22 win over Ohio. Georgia Tech went to Dublin to beat Florida State on a late field goal, and won 35-12 in its home opener versus Georgia State.

Troy at Memphis

The Tigers host the Trojans. Seth Henigan began his fourth season as Memphis' starting quarterback with 308 yards and two TD passes. Troy head coach Gerad Parker, who takes over for Joe Sumrall, began his tenure with a 28-26 setback to Nevada.

The Blue Devils begin the Manny Diaz era by taking on an in-state foe, the Phoenix. Diaz, back in a head coaching role for the first time since being fired by Miami in 2021, replaces Mike Elko, who left Duke to take the reins at Texas A&M.

Western Carolina at NC State

The No. 24 Wolfpack welcome the Catamounts to Raleigh, N.C., for a Tar Heel State tussle. Grayson McCall makes his NC State debut after throwing for 10,005 yards with 88 touchdown passes against 14 interceptions in 42 games at Coastal Carolina.

Austin Peay State at Louisville

The Cardinals look to break through as they host the Governors. Jeff Brohm led Louisville to a 10-4 mark in his first season at the helm, the program's best since joining the ACC in 2014. The Cardinals just missed the cut for the preseason AP Top 25.
