College Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. Each NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. NCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. Overall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

NCAAMThe No. 14 Boilermakers begin life without Zach Edey as they host the Islanders. Edey, a two-time national player of the year, helped Purdue to its first title game since 1969 last season, but moved on to the NBA as the ninth overall pick by Memphis.
Maine at Duke
NCAAMNo. 7 Duke starts a 17th consecutive season ranked inside the AP Top 10 as it hosts Maine. Five-star recruit Cooper Flagg debuts for the Blue Devils. The Newport, Maine, native is widely expected to be selected first in the upcoming 2025 NBA draft.
Wright State at Kentucky
NCAAMThe No. 23 Wildcats begin a new era by hosting the Raiders. John Calipari guided Kentucky for 15 seasons before leaving his position April 9 and joining SEC rival Arkansas the following day in a stunning move. Mark Pope was named head coach April 12.
Wichita State at Western Kentucky
NCAAMThe Shockers aim to put 2023-24 behind them as they visit the Hilltoppers. Wichita State finished 15-19, its first campaign below .500 since 2007-08. Hank Plona assumes the coaching duties at Western Kentucky after Steve Lutz moved to Oklahoma State.
