NCAAM

College Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. Each NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. NCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. Overall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

The No. 6 Cougars march on to face the No. 2 Crimson Tide in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16. BYU hung on to knock off No. 3 Wisconsin 91-89 in the second round behind 25 points from Richie Saunders. Alabama took out Robert Morris and Saint Mary's.

Arizona vs Duke

Cooper Flagg and the No. 1 Blue Devils run into the No. 4 Wildcats in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16. Flagg had 18 points, nine rebounds and six assists as Duke waxed Baylor 89-66 in the second round. Arizona took out former Pac-12 rival Oregon.

Ole Miss vs Michigan State

Tom Izzo leads the No. 2 seed Spartans into an NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 game against the upset-minded No. 6 Rebels. Michigan State makes its 16th appearance in a regional semifinal under Izzo. Ole Miss competes in its first Sweet 16 since 2001.

The No. 1 Tigers (30-5) and No. 5 Wolverines (27-9) clash in a NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 matchup. Michigan is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2022. Auburn set its sights on its third Elite Eight after knocking off Creighton 82-70.

Connors State vs Trinity Valley

The Cinderella No. 17 Cowboys face the No. 7 Cardinals in the NJCAA D-I Tournament title game. Connors State, the 1990 champ from Oklahoma, upset No. 1 Snow in the second round en route to a date with Texas' Trinity Valley, seeking its first crown.

Cal State-Dominguez Hills vs Nova Southeastern

Surprising Cal State-Dominguez Hills faces a Nova Southeastern squad playing in its third straight DII final. The Toros advanced to the title game by erasing 17 and 19-point deficits, while the Sharks have had a much easier ride to the final.
