\n\nCollege Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. \n\nEach NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. \n\nNCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. \n\nOverall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

UCLA vs Gonzaga

The No. 14 Bulldogs (9-3) brace for the No. 22 Bruins (10-2) in the West Coast Hoops Showdown. Gonzaga won the last meeting 69-65 in the 2023 Maui Invitational final for its fourth straight series victory, a run that started in the 2021 Final Four.

Utah State at San Diego State

The No. 20 Aztecs (8-2, 1-0) try for their sixth straight victory as they host the Mountain West foe Aggies (11-1, 1-0). San Diego State has won six of the last seven meetings. Utah State followed its loss with a 75-68 win at Saint Mary's on Dec. 22.

Indiana State at Ohio State

The surging Buckeyes (8-4) and streaking Sycamores (8-4) meet for the first time. Ohio State enjoyed its Christmas week break on a high after easily defeating then-No. 4 Kentucky 85-65 in New York on Dec. 21. Indiana State has won five straight.

Chicago State at Illinois

The No. 24 Fighting Illini (8-3) try to stay perfect against the Cougars (0-14). Lithuanian freshman Kasparas Jakucionis topped 20 points in each of his last six games, and leads Illinois with 16.5 ppg. The Illini lead the all-time series 13-0.

Buffalo at Temple

The Owls (7-5) and Bulls (5-6) finish their non-conference schedules with this contest. Temple beat Buffalo in the schools' last two meetings, in 2011 and 2012. Jamal Mashburn Jr., a transfer from New Mexico, leads Temple with 20.3 points per game.

The Cavaliers (6-5) welcome the Eagles (6-5) to John Paul Jones Arena. On Dec. 18, Virginia couldn't hold an 11-point second-half lead in a 64-62 loss to No. 21 Memphis, while American had its five-game win streak stopped by Saint Joseph's, 84-57.

Rider at NC State

The Wolfpack host the Broncs. NC State is 7-4 after a 75-60 loss at then-No. 10 Kansas. Wolfpack senior guard Marcus Hill paces a well-balanced scoring attack with 12.7 points per game. Rider is 0-3 versus major conference teams this season.

Le Moyne at Notre Dame

The Dolphins (5-8) make the trip to the Hoosier State to face the Fighting Irish (6-5). Notre Dame is on a two-game win streak, with sophomore guard Braeden Shrewsberry averaging 23.5 points in those victories. Le Moyne is 3-5 away from home.

Coppin State at Georgetown

The Hoyas (10-2) ride a three-game win streak into their contest against the Eagles (1-12). Georgetown leads the all-time series 5-0 following a 71-54 victory last season. Coppin State comes off a 68-60 triumph over Navy that snapped a 25-game slide.

North Carolina Central at North Carolina A&T

The Eagles zip across Interstate 85 to play the Aggies. The in-state foes renewed their rivalry last December after two seasons off, with North Carolina Central winning 67-62. Po'Boigh King, NC Central's leading scorer, had seven points that day.
