\n\nCollege Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. \n\nEach NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. \n\nNCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. \n\nOverall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

Princeton vs Rutgers
NCAAMGarden State foes in the Tigers (8-4) and Scarlet Knights (7-4) compete in the Never Forget Tribute Classic in Newark, N.J. Rutgers freshman guard Dylan Harper averages 23.5 points per game. Princeton beat Rutgers 68-61 in Trenton, N.J., last season.
Villanova at Creighton
NCAAMThe Wildcats (8-4, 1-0 Big East) square off with the Bluejays (7-5, 0-1). Villanova has won five in a row, while Creighton dropped two straight, including its conference opener to Georgetown. The schools split the last five regular-season series.
Marquette at Xavier
NCAAMThe Musketeers vie for their fifth straight victory over the Golden Eagles in a Big East game. Marquette leads the series 59-27. Xavier is 7-0 at the Cintas Center this season, winning by an average of 23.4 ppg. The Eagles are 1-2 in true road games.
Illinois vs Missouri
NCAAMThe red-hot Tigers (10-1) face the Fighting Illini (7-3) at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. Since losing its season opener to Memphis, Missouri has been unbeatable, including an upset of then-No. 1 Kansas in a Border War matchup on Dec. 8.
Kent State at Alabama
NCAAMThe No. 6 Crimson Tide (9-2) gear up for the Golden Flashes (8-2). AP Preseason All-American Mark Sears leads Alabama with 18 points per contest after totaling 70 in his last three. MAC preseason first-teamer VonCameron Davis paces Kent State (14.9).
American at Virginia
NCAAMThe Cavaliers (6-5) welcome the Eagles (6-5) to John Paul Jones Arena. On Dec. 18, Virginia couldn't hold an 11-point second-half lead in a 64-62 loss to No. 21 Memphis, while American had its five-game win streak stopped by Saint Joseph's, 84-57.

NCAAMThe No. 9 Golden Eagles (9-2) and Bulldogs (7-4) try to right the ship in this Big East opener. Marquette has dropped two of its last three to break up a perfect season, while Butler has lost three in a row. The Eagles are 7-0 at home in 2024-25.
Xavier at Connecticut
NCAAMThe No. 11Huskies (8-3) host the Musketeers (8-3) in a Big East opener. UConn has won four in a row following an 0-3 trip to Maui in November. UConn went 3-0 during the 2023-24 season series after smashing Xavier 87-60 in the Big East quarterfinals.

NCAAMThe Huskies and Cougars play their lone matchup of 2024-25. This is the first campaign in which these Evergreen State programs are in different divisions since 1962-63 after Washington departed the Pac-12. Washington State has won three in a row.
