\n\nCollege Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. \n\nEach NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. \n\nNCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. \n\nOverall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

NC State at Virginia

The Wolfpack (8-4, 1-0 ACC) match up with the Cavaliers (7-5, 0-1). This is a rematch of the 2024 ACC tournament semifinal, which NC State won 73-65 over Virginia. Michael O'Connell (NCSU) hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to send that game to overtime.

Wake Forest at Syracuse

The Orange deal with the Demon Deacons at the JMA Wireless Dome. Wake Forest waxed Syracuse 99-70 during the only 2023-24 meeting. Hunter Sallis scored 24 points in that win, and leads the Deacons with 17.8 points per game in 2024-25.

Brown at Kentucky

The No. 10 Wildcats (10-2) bounce out of their Christmas week break by battling the Bears (7-4). The programs have never met. Kentucky is 18-3 all-time against the Ivy League, losing to Princeton in 1936, Dartmouth in 1942 and Cornell in 1967.

Notre Dame at Georgia Tech

The Fighting Irish ride a three-game win streak into their ACC road test against the Yellow Jackets. Notre Dame swept three meetings last season by a combined 14 points. The Fighting Irish won their ACC opener, 69-64 over the Orange on Dec. 7.

Arizona State at BYU

The Sun Devils play their first Big 12 game as they visit the Cougars. The schools met in the 2023 Vegas Showdown, with BYU pummeling Arizona State 77-49. Malian senior Fousseyni Traore (BYU) had six points, nine rebounds and five assists in the win.

Alabama-Birmingham at North Texas

The Blazers (7-6) and Mean Green (9-3) begin their second American Athletic Conference seasons. UAB, the reigning AAC champion, beat North Texas twice in 2023-24. UAB senior Yaxel Lendeborg was a unanimous AAC Preseason Player of the Year pick.

The Hoyas (10-2) ride a three-game win streak into their contest against the Eagles (1-12). Georgetown leads the all-time series 5-0 following a 71-54 victory last season. Coppin State comes off a 68-60 triumph over Navy that snapped a 25-game slide.

The Hawks fly with the Terrapins in an Old Line State showdown. Maryland has won all 18 meetings with Maryland-Eastern Shore since 1979. Selton Miguel (MD) has scored 24 points in back-to-back outings. The Hawks have won two in a row.

North Carolina Central at North Carolina A&T

The Eagles zip across Interstate 85 to play the Aggies. The in-state foes renewed their rivalry last December after two seasons off, with North Carolina Central winning 67-62. Po'Boigh King, NC Central's leading scorer, had seven points that day.

Alabama A&M at Georgia Tech

The Bulldogs and Yellow Jackets return to action following the holiday break. Georgia Tech fell to 5-4 at McCamish Pavilion this season after an 82-56 loss to then-No. 5 Duke on Dec. 21. Alabama A&M lost a fifth straight game that same day.
