\n\nCollege Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. \n\nEach NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. \n\nNCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. \n\nOverall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

Ryan Kalkbrenner and the Bluejays try to rebound against the Bulldogs in a Big East game. Creighton's modest two-game win streak came to a halt with a 79-71 loss at then-No. 8 Marquette on Jan. 3 despite 16 points and 12 boards from Kalkbrenner.

Notre Dame at Duke

The No. 4 Blue Devils (13-2, 5-0 ACC) host the Fighting Irish (7-8, 1-3). Duke has won nine in a row overall, and is 11-1 versus Notre Dame since 2016-17 after winning a pair last season by a combined 26 points. The Irish have dropped three straight.

Louisville at Pittsburgh

The Cardinals (11-5, 4-1 ACC) take a five-game win streak into a date with the Panthers (12-3, 3-1). Pittsburgh's own five-game run ended in humbling fashion Jan. 7 as No. 4 Duke delivered a 76-47 thrashing. Louisville is 2-1 on the road this season.

Brown at Yale

The Bulldogs (7-6) and Bears (8-5) kick off their conference schedules with this contest. This is a rematch of last year's Ivy League Tournament final, which Yale won 62-61 over Brown on a Matt Knowling buzzer-beater. Knowling now plays for USC.

UNLV at Boise State

The Rebels (9-5, 3-0 MWC) aim to stay atop the conference as they face the Broncos (11-4, 3-1). Last season, UNLV ended an eight-game slide versus Boise State with a 68-64 victory. Rob Whaley Jr. (UNLV) contributed 18 points off the bench in the win.

St. John's at Xavier

The Musketeers host the Red Storm. St. John's has won seven of its past eight overall. Xavier is sliding, with losses in four of its last five. Xavier's Dayvion McKnight had 19 points and six assists in an 88-77 home win over St. John's in 2023-24.

Ole Miss at Arkansas

The Razorbacks (11-3, 0-1) welcome the SEC rival No. 23 Rebels (12-2, 1-0) to Bud Walton Arena. Ole Miss opened its conference campaign with a 63-51 victory over Georgia. Arkansas saw its six-game win streak snapped, 76-52 at No. 1 Tennessee.

Florida State at Miami

The Hurricanes seek their first win under interim head coach Bill Courtney when they host the Seminoles. Florida State beat Syracuse on Jan. 4 for its first ACC triumph in 2024-25. Miami has lost to Boston College and Virginia Tech in the new year.
