College Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. Each NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. NCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. Overall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

The No. 1 Red Storm face the No. 5 Golden Eagles in a Big East Tournament semifinal. St. John's won both 2024-25 meetings by a combined eight points to snap Marquette's six-game series win streak. Marquette dispatched No. 4 Xavier in the quarters.

The No. 1 seed Bulldogs tip off with the No. 3 Black Bears in the 2025 America East Tournament championship game. Bryant has won four straight meetings, including a pair this season by a combined 34 points. Maine seeks its first NCAA Tournament bid.

Princeton vs Yale

The No. 1 Bulldogs brace for the No. 4 Tigers in the Ivy League Tournament semifinals. Defending champion Yale swept a pair from Princeton this season by a combined 34 points. Bulldogs leading scorer John Poulakidas totaled 34 points in those games.

Connecticut vs Creighton

The Huskies battle the Bluejays in the Big East Tournament semifinals. No. 3 seed UConn pulled away from Villanova 73-56 in the quarterfinals. No. 2 Creighton needed two overtimes, and Ryan Kalkbrenner's 32 points, to dispatch DePaul 85-81.

Wisconsin vs Michigan State

The No. 1 Spartans and No. 5 Badgers face off in a Big Ten Tournament semifinal. Wisconsin star John Tonje averaged 22 points in early-round wins over Northwestern and UCLA. Jaden Akins' 19 points led the Spartans past the Badgers 71-62 on March 2.

Virginia vs Georgia Tech

The No. 8 seed Yellow Jackets collide with the No. 9 Cavaliers in the second round of the ACC Tournament. The winner plays No. 1 Duke in the quarterfinals. Virginia defeated Georgia Tech 75-61 on Feb. 8 for its 13th straight series victory.

South Carolina vs Arkansas

The SEC Tournament gets underway with the No. 9 Razorbacks (19-12) taking on the No. 16 Gamecocks (12-19). South Carolina hammered Arkansas 72-53 in the regular season, and dispatched the Hogs 80-66 in the second round of the 2024 SEC tourney.

Texas vs Vanderbilt

The No. 12 Commodores face the No. 13 Longhorns in the SEC Tournament's first round. Vanderbilt beat Texas 76-68 on Feb. 8 behind career highs of 18 points and 14 rebounds by Jaylen Carey. Texas is led by freshman Tre Johnson's 20.2 points per game.

Lamar vs McNeese State

The No. 1 seed Cowboys seek a second straight Southland Conference Tournament title, against the No. 2 Cardinals. McNeese rides a 10-game win streak, including its fifth straight victory over Lamar. The Cardinals seek their first crown since 2012.

LSU vs Mississippi State

The SEC Tournament's first round rolls on with the No. 10 Bulldogs (20-11) squaring off against the No. 15 Tigers (14-17). Mississippi State stumbled down the stretch, losing four of its last five, with the lone win coming over LSU 81-69 on March 1.

The No. 2 Eagles meet the No. 5 Midshipmen in the Patriot League Tournament final. Both programs seek their fourth Patriot League crown, with Navy last winning in 1998, and American claiming the title last in 2014. Navy swept the regular-season set.
