College Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. Each NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. NCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. Overall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

San Francisco vs Gonzaga

History favors the Bulldogs in a West Coast Conference Tournament semifinal against the Dons. Gonzaga has featured in 27 consecutive WCC finals, and defeated San Francisco 32 straight times. The Dons seek their first title-game appearance since 1998.

Youngstown State vs Cleveland State

The No. 2 seed Vikings take on the No. 4 Penguins in the Horizon League Tournament semifinals. The sides split a pair this season. Cleveland State ousted Northern Kentucky while Youngstown State eliminated Purdue Fort Wayne in the quarterfinals.

Virginia at Syracuse

The Orange (12-18, 6-13 ACC) complete their 2024-25 regular season when they host the Cavaliers (15-15, 8-11). Syracuse is guaranteed to finish with its fewest conference wins since 2005-06, and a loss would equal a low last reached in 1980-81.

Pittsburgh vs Notre Dame

The ACC Tournament begins with the No. 12 seed Fighting Irish taking on the No. 13 Panthers. The winner meets No. 5 North Carolina in the second round. Notre Dame closed the regular season with a 112-110 victory over California in four overtimes.

California vs Virginia Tech

The No. 10 seed Hokies meet the No. 15 Golden Bears in the ACC Tournament's first round. The winner plays Stanford. California wrapped up its regular season with a 112-110 loss to Notre Dame in four overtimes. Virginia Tech beat Cal 71-68 in January.

Purdue at Illinois

The No. 18 Boilermakers (21-9, 13-6 Big Ten) battle the Fighting Illini (19-11, 11-8) in this regular-season finale. Purdue recovered from a four-game slide with back-to-back wins over UCLA and Rutgers. Illinois also has won two straight outings.

Wake Forest at Duke

The Demon Deacons look for a statement win heading into the ACC Tournament as they visit the No. 2 Blue Devils. Wake Forest fell to 9-38 since the start of the century against Duke on Jan. 25 when the Blue Devils claimed a 63-56 road victory.

South Florida at Memphis

The No. 16 Tigers (25-5, 15-2 American) prep for the postseason by facing the Bulls (13-17, 6-11). Memphis clinched the top seed in the American Athletic Conference Tournament by topping UTSA 75-70 on March 4. The Tigers have won 12 of their last 13.

California at Louisville

The red-hot No. 14 Cardinals host the Golden Bears. Chucky Hepburn's career-high 37 points helped Louisville defeat Pittsburgh on March 1 for its seventh straight win. California ended a five-game drought in its last outing by beating Boston College.

Colorado State at Boise State

The Rams and Broncos end their Mountain West Conference regular seasons in Idaho. Colorado State seeks the season-series sweep after topping Boise State 75-72 on Jan. 22. Nique Clifford led the Rams with 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

St. John's at Marquette

The No. 6 Red Storm visit the No. 20 Golden Eagles in a potential Big East Tournament semifinal preview. Regular-season champion St. John's, winners of five straight, snapped a six-game slide against Marquette with a 70-64 victory in February.

Mississippi State at Arkansas

The Razorbacks (18-12, 7-10 SEC) field a challenge from the No. 25 Bulldogs (20-10, 8-9) in this regular-season finale. Arkansas has won three of four, and would surpass Mississippi State in the standings entering the SEC Tournament with a victory.

Vanderbilt at Georgia

The Bulldogs (19-11, 7-10) ride a three-game win streak into an SEC regular-season finale versus the Commodores (20-10, 8-9). Georgia's run is its longest in conference play since 2020-21. Silas Demary Jr. averaged 21 points in those three outings.
