College Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. Each NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. NCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. Overall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

The Commodores brace for the Bulldogs in the Charleston Classic championship game. Vanderbilt is 6-0 for the first time since 2007 following a 76-60 victory over Seton Hall in the semifinals. Drake is 5-0 after dispatching Florida Atlantic 75-63.

Memphis vs Connecticut

The Huskies (4-0) tangle with the Tigers (4-0) in the first round of the Maui Invitational. Two-time defending national champion UConn has won 17 straight by an average margin of 24.4 points. PJ Haggerty (MEM) scores 22.5 points per contest.

Penn State vs Fordham

Ace Baldwin Jr. and the Nittany Lions brace for the Rams in the Sunshine Slam semifinals. Baldwin, a 6-foot senior guard, has helped Penn State to a 5-0 start by averaging 16.4 points per game while among the nation's leaders in assists at 7.8.

The No. 13 Bears (3-0) run with the No. 22 Red Storm (4-0) in the Bahamas Championship semifinals. The winner plays No. 11 Tennessee or Virginia for the title. Baylor is led by 6-foot-7 senior Norchad Omier's 13.3 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Tarleton State at Michigan

The Wolverines (3-1) host the Texans (1-4). All three of Michigan's wins this season have come by double digits at the Crisler Center. Yale transfer Danny Wolf (MICH) averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots across those contests.

Texas Tech vs Saint Joseph's

A semifinal matchup at the Legends Classic pits the Hawks (3-1) against the Red Raiders (4-0). This is the first meeting between the schools since the second round of the 2004 NCAA Tournament, when No. 1 Saint Joseph's ousted No. 8 Texas Tech 70-65.

Virginia vs Tennessee

The No. 11 Volunteers (4-0) link up with the Cavaliers (3-0) in the semifinals of the Bahamas Championship from Nassau. These programs last squared off in 2013. Zakai Zeigler is posting 15.5 points and 7.8 assists per game for Tennessee.

Memphis vs San Francisco

The Dons and Tigers tip off at the Chase Center. PJ Haggerty has helped Memphis to a 3-0 record by scoring 25.7 points per game. Freshman Tyrone Riley IV has been instrumental in San Francisco's third 4-0 start in four seasons, averaging 19.5 ppg.

UNC-Greensboro at Indiana

Mackenzie Mgbako and the No. 16 Hoosiers welcome the Spartans to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Mgbako, a 6-foot-9 sophomore, has helped Indiana to a 3-0 start by averaging 22 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. UNC Greensboro is 2-1, losing to SMU.

Wofford at Duke

Freshman phenom Cooper Flagg and the No. 6 Blue Devils host the Terriers. Duke comes off a 77-72 setback against No. 19 Kentucky. Flagg collected 26 points and 12 rebounds in that game, but his two turnovers in the last 13 seconds sealed Duke's fate.

American at North Carolina

The No. 10 Tar Heels (1-1) host the Eagles (1-2). North Carolina lost a fifth straight contest against No. 1 Kansas, 92-89 on Nov. 8. Wisconsin native Seth Trimble led the Tar Heels with 19 points, including a 10-for-10 night at the free-throw line.
