NCAAM

College Basketball, also known as NCAA Basketball, is the highest level of basketball competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. College Basketball teams are made up of student-athletes attending institutions of higher education in the United States. It is one of the most popular sports in the country, with some of the most renowned NCAA Basketball teams including Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Syracuse, and Louisville. College Basketball is noted for its competitive intensity and passion that the student-athletes exhibit. Each NCAA Basketball season consists of a regular season with each team playing approximately 3-4 conferences games and 20-25 games outside of the conference. The season is then capped off with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, commonly referred to as the “Big Dance” or the “March Madness”, where 68 teams compete in single-elimination bracket to determine the Division I National Champion. This tournament remains one of the most popular sporting events in the United States and is often the most “bet on” event of the year in the US. NCAA Basketball has a long and rich history dating back to its first recorded game in 1892 and only getting more popular as the years went on. Some of the big names that have graced the NCAA Basketball courts over the years include: Lew Alcindor (renamed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once converted to Islam), Bill Walton, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James; to name a few. Overall, college basketball continues to remain one of the most popular sports in the US, with intense rivalries and passion for the sport fueling the culture of the competition. NCAA Basketball season excites fans and players alike every year, as they hope for a sweet victory in the tournament and the chance to take home a National Championship.

Ole Miss at Auburn

The Rebels (19-8, 8-6 SEC) try to knock off the No. 1 Tigers (25-2, 13-1). Auburn's four-game win streak includes a win in the Iron Bowl of basketball with then-No. 2 Alabama on Feb. 15. Auburn beat Ole Miss for a seventh straight time Feb. 1.

Villanova at Seton Hall

The Wildcats (16-12, 9-8) try to improve their Big East standing by visiting the Pirates (7-20, 2-14). Villanova has won nine of the past 10 meetings after a 79-67 decision Dec. 17, 2024. Nova's Eric Dixon paces the nation at 22.9 points per game.

Texas at Arkansas

The Razorbacks (16-11, 5-9 SEC) try to sweep the Longhorns (16-11, 5-9). Texas has lost four of its last five, beginning with a 78-70 defeat against Arkansas on Feb. 5, despite freshman guard Tre Johnson averaging 25 points during the stretch.

Penn State at Indiana

Malik Reneau and the rejuvenated Hoosiers (16-11, 7-9 Big Ten) host the Nittany Lions (15-13, 5-12). Indiana has won two of its last three, over then-No. 11 Michigan State and then-No. 13 Purdue, with Reneau totaling 34 points in those victories.

Xavier at Seton Hall

The Musketeers (17-10, 9-7 Big East) continue their push as they visit the Pirates (7-19, 2-13). Xavier has won three straight in a bid for NCAA Tournament consideration. Ryan Conwell's 22 points led Xavier past Seton Hall 94-72 on Dec. 31, 2024.

Clemson at SMU

The No. 18 Tigers face the Mustangs for the first time in over a decade. Clemson has won three in a row, and nine of its last 10 outings. The programs last met in the semifinals of the 2014 National Invitation Tournament, with SMU prevailing 65-56.

USC at Rutgers

The Scarlet Knights look to build off a victory when they host the Trojans in Big Ten action. Rutgers snapped a three-game slide on Feb. 19 with an 89-85 overtime win against Washington. Star freshman Dylan Harper led the Knights with 34 points.

The Hokies (11-15, 6-9 ACC) seek the season-series sweep of the Hurricanes (6-20, 2-13). Virginia Tech scored an 86-85 win over Miami on Jan. 4. Mylyjael Poteat led the Hokies with 25 points and hit the winning free throw with 2.7 seconds left.
