FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifying

The FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifying is a multi-round qualification process for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. All of FIFA's 211 national football associations are eligible to compete for 31 spots in the tournament. Out of the 211 nations that will enter the qualifying process, 32 will qualify for the tournament and compete for the championship.\n\nThe process began on December 1, 2020 and will continue until November 2022. There are three stages of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifying: preliminary round, final round and inter-confederation play-offs. In the preliminary round, the participating nations are split into six regional confederations: CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, UEFA, CAF, AFC and OFC. Each confederation will crown its own champion based on the performance of its teams in their respective groups. \n\nThe UEFA region is the most competitive with 13 nations competing for 4 spots in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Popular teams such as England, France, Germany, and Spain will all be competing for a chance to make it to the tournament. Current superstars such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard, and Kylian Mbappé will all be featured in the qualifiers. \n\nIn the final round, the best performing teams from each region will be drawn into 8 groups of 5, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the inter-confederation play-offs. The 8 teams that advance from the play-offs will join 24 other teams to complete the 32-team roster for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. \n\nDuring the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifying, there have been several historic records and moments. Popular teams such as Argentina, Brazil, and Spain have all maintained their qualifying streak since the 1930 FIFA World Cup. Germany have also followed suit in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying and will be looking to repeat the same success this tournament. The 2018 FIFA World Cup also saw some historic moments in qualifying, with South Korea securing a dramatic win against Germany and Uruguay being eliminated in the inter-confederation play-offs. \n\nThe FIFA World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events in the world, and the 2022 Qualifying process promises to be just as exciting and unpredictable. With some of the biggest footballers in the world competing for the chance to qualify, the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying is sure to see many historic matches, moments and records.
