Ride, Ranger, Ride

The Texas Rangers are being demobilized due to the arrival of the U.S. Cavalry, so good old Texas boys Gene (Gene Autry) and Frog (Smiley Burnette) join up. They know the area like the back of their hands and are aware that the local Native Americans are ready for war. The cavalry is charged with protecting a wagon train loaded with ammunition, and soon hostile forces are circling the wagons. Can Gene stave them off and get the girl, Dixie (Kay Hughes) ? Can Frog avoid being scalped?

The Strawberry Roan

Ranch foreman Gene Autry (Gene Autry) brings Walt Bailey (Jack Holt) a strawberry roan. Walt wants his son, Joe (Dick Jones), to break the wild stallion, but Joe is inexperienced and can't handle the horse. He is thrown, trampled and disabled as a result. Walt tries to kill the horse, but it runs off. Joe, now using a wheelchair, becomes depressed. Gene goes after the horse and secretly trains it. He returns with the transformed stallion, renamed Champ, and uses it to raise Joe's spirits.

The Singing Cowboy

Cowboy Gene Autry (Gene Autry) assumes guardianship of Lou Ann Stevens (Ann Gilles) when she's paralyzed in a secret attack by her father's partner, Martin (Lon Chaney Jr.), that left her father dead. As Martin searches for a gold mine under the Stevens' ranch, Gene struggles to raise money for Lou Ann's surgery by working for a covered wagon coffee company and performing along the trail. Also trying to solve Stevens' murder, Gene runs into trouble with his boss's daughter, Helen (Lois Wilde).

Tumbling Tumbleweeds

When his father is caught up in a dispute between ranchers and homesteaders, Gene (Gene Autry) sides with the homesteaders, which promptly gets him banished. He joins a medicine show run by Dr. Parker (George Hayes) and hits the road. Returning five years later, he finds that his father has been murdered and an old friend of his has been accused of the crime. Gene and his cohort, Smiley (Smiley Burnette), must find the real killer while singing a few songs along the way.
