She uses electronic devices to help her learn, create and explore, but she always makes sure to unplug and enjoy quality time with friends, family and pet dog Scratch. She explores the world and goes on adventures with her buds, including best friend Hal, and pooch to satisfy her curiosity and find out more about what goes on around her. Dot gets her passion for technology from her techie mother, who develops apps, while her father is more old-school with a love for woodworking and would rather enjoy the simple things in life than be tethered to electronics. The animated series is based on a children's book written by technology advocate Randi Zuckerberg, who calls the titular character "relatable" and says she is "that friend we all have who is energetic, adventurous and imaginative."
