Badman's Territory
After Jesse and Frank James rob a bank in a northern Texas country, Sheriff Mark Rowley (Randolph Scott) and his deputy brother Johnny (James Warren) pursue them into the "Badlands" territory, an outlaw haven not associated with any government. The James brothers are also wanted by a devious federal marshal, who battles Mark for their custody. Soon Mark and Johnny are embroiled with the Dalton Gang and an effort by a female newspaper owner (Ann Richards) to make the territory part of Oklahoma.

A violent courtroom confrontation turns the Daltons into outlaws, and they are forced to go on the run.

Man From Del Rio
Thanks to his prowess with a gun, Dave Robles (Anthony Quinn) makes a place for himself in Mesa, becoming sheriff after out-dueling several gunfighters in a single day. But Robles, a Mexican, seethes over the town's racism, and is warned by kindly nurse Estella (Katy Jurado) that without his gun, he would not last very long. That theory is put to the test when the new sheriff injures his wrist fighting with Ed Bannister (Peter Whitney), who upon learning about it, challenges Robles to a duel.

Kathy begins spying for Clay, but she struggles with the idea that one of these two friends may kill the other in battle.
