Shiloh

Young Marty Preston (Blake Heron) wants to keep a beagle dog that followed him home. He even names him Shiloh. Unfortunately, his father, Ray (Michael Moriarty), insists the pup be returned to its rightful owner, hunter Judd Travers (Scott Wilson), even though Judd abuses the dog. After Shiloh is abused again, he returns to Marty, who then hides him away in a backyard shed. But when a stray dog attacks and badly hurts Shiloh, Marty needs to turn to his father for help.

The Bear

A bear cub is left alone, unable to feed or defend itself, when its mother is killed in a rockslide. Eventually, the cub attempts to bond with a male grizzly, which initially ignores it. When the grizzly is pursued by hunters, the cub comes to its aid and wins the grizzly's affection. However, when one of the hunters captures the cub, the grizzly must confront the armed hunters. The tale is told from the cub's perspective.

Gerry

Friends Gerry (Casey Affleck) and Gerry (Matt Damon) hike into Death Valley, but they stray so far from the trail that they have no idea how to get back. Initially, they maintain morale by rehashing old stories and reciting inside jokes, but the gravity of their situation sinks in as a return to civilization becomes more unlikely. As the sheer scope, hypnotic pull and spirit-crushing mirages of the desert affect the men, their will to live and sense of identity is challenged and transformed.

Sophie's Choice
