Operation Pacific
In the South Pacific, submarine officer Duke Gifford (John Wayne) and the crew of the "Thunderfish" are attacked by the Japanese during a rescue mission, and their torpedoes malfunction. Returning safely to Pearl Harbor, Duke meets his ex-wife, Mary (Patricia Neal), who still feels strongly for him but is engaged to a pilot, the brother of Duke's commander, Pop Perry (Ward Bond). Determined to win Mary back, Duke is sidetracked when he and the crew are ordered on a mission with new torpedoes.

Noble cowboy the Durango Kid (Charles Starrett) gets snared in a vicious feud between two warring stagecoach operations. One of the two has been recently willed to spitfire Mary Halliday (Carole Mathews), whose father the Kid suspects was murdered by a business rival. With the help of his trusted friends Tex Harding (Tex Harding) and Cannonball (Dub Taylor), the Kid hopes to uncover the truth while hiding the investigation from the strident Miss Halliday.

Destry Rides Again
The small town of Bottleneck is under the control of Kent (Brian Donlevy), a power-hungry boss who gets control over the local cattle ranchers by winning a rigged game of cards. When the local sheriff questions the legitimacy of the game, Kent has him killed and names the town drunk, Dimsdale (Charles Winninger), as sheriff. What Kent doesn't know is that Dimsdale knows legendary lawman Tom Destry, who in turn sends his daring son Tom Destry Jr. (James Stewart) to Bottleneck to save the day.
