'Neath the Arizona Skies
Nina (Shirley Jean Rickert), a young half-Native American girl whose mother has recently died, must find her white father in order to claim her hefty inheritance. Of course, a defenseless heiress seems like easy pickings to some of the Wild West's most dastardly thugs, including Sam Black (Yakima Canutt), who is soon on her trail. But, thankfully, Nina has a noble guardian in cowboy Chris Morrell (John Wayne), who vows to get the girl safely to her estranged father.
Mr. Soft Touch
A World War II veteran, Joe Miracle (Glenn Ford), comes home to find that his nightclub has been taken over by gangsters and his business partner has been killed. After reclaiming the money that is rightfully his, he is forced to hide out in a settlement house due to a case of mistaken identity. There, he befriends the house manager, Jenny Jones (Evelyn Keyes). While being pursued by gangsters and a persistent journalist, Joe learns a valuable lesson about altruism.
In a Lonely Place
Hollywood screenwriter Dixon Steele (Humphrey Bogart) and his neighbor Laurel (Gloria Grahame) are just getting to know each other romantically when the police begin questioning Dixon about his involvement in the murder of a girl he met once. Certain her new love interest is innocent, Laurel stands by Dixon, but as the police continue pressing him, Dixon begins to act increasingly erratically. The blossoming love affair suffers as Laurel begins to wonder if Dixon really might be a killer.
Wagon Master
When a group of Mormons are run out of town for their religious beliefs, Elder Wiggs (Ward Bond) searches for a wagon master to guide the outcasts to the San Juan Valley. Happening upon horse traders Travis Blue (Ben Johnson) and Sandy (Harry Carey Jr.), Wiggs convinces the men to take the position due to their intimate knowledge of the area. Despite Blue and Sandy's guidance, the travelers experience numerous setbacks, especially when the Clegg family outlaws take refuge in their wagon train.
Rio Bravo
When gunslinger Joe Burdette (Claude Akins) kills a man in a saloon, Sheriff John T. Chance (John Wayne) arrests him with the aid of the town drunk, Dude (Dean Martin). Before long, Burdette's brother, Nathan (John Russell), comes around, indicating that he's prepared to bust his brother out of jail if necessary. Chance decides to make a stand until reinforcements arrive, enlisting Dude, an old cripple named Stumpy (Walter Brennan) and baby-faced cowboy Colorado Ryan (Ricky Nelson) to help.
Buchanan Rides Alone
Journeying from Mexico back home to West Texas, mercenary Tom Buchanan (Randolph Scott) takes a break for the night in the border town of Agry. He soon discovers that almost every resident -- from the crooked sheriff (Barry Kelley) to the shifty-eyed innkeeper -- is a member of the prominent Agry family. When Buchanan defends Juan de la Vega (Manuel Rojas), a young man about to be lynched for shooting the town drunk, he himself is accused of murder and must struggle to escape town alive.
The World of Henry Orient
While trying to seduce a married woman (Paula Prentiss), egotistical concert pianist Henry Orient (Peter Sellers) is interrupted by two precocious schoolgirls, Valerie (Tippy Walker) and Marian (Merrie Spaeth). At first he thinks nothing of it, but as he sees them more often, he becomes convinced they're spies for his lover's husband. The girls, meanwhile, have found out who he is, and Valerie insists she's in love. She starts a scrapbook, which her mother finds and, of course, misconstrues.
One Summer Love
Following years under the care of Dr. Lee (James Noble), Jesse (Beau Bridges), a troubled young man, is released from a mental institution. He decides to look for his family, who had Jesse committed long ago for reasons that aren't clear to him. After meeting Chloe (Susan Sarandon), a lovely movie theater employee, Jesse begins a relationship with her, but his past may prevent the couple from having a lasting romance. Can Chloe help Jesse overcome his psychological and emotional obstacles?
