Saddle the Wind

Steve Sinclair (Robert Taylor) is a former gunfighter and soldier who left his violent ways behind him after the Civil War. Since then, he has settled down as a rancher in a small Western town. But his easygoing life is turned upside down when his unstable little brother, Tony (John Cassavetes), shows up with his bride-to-be, Joan (Julie London). The Carson City Kid

The Carson City Kid (Roy Rogers) stops stagecoaches traveling between Wild West mining towns, searching their mail sacks for letters addressed to Morgan Reynolds, the man who killed his brother. Discovering that Reynolds operates a saloon under the name Lee Jessup (Bob Steele), the Kid takes a job as the saloon's bouncer. While vying with Reynolds for the affections of singer Joby Madison (Pauline Moore), the Kid discovers a swindled miner (Noah Beery Jr.) who claims to be the Carson City Kid.

The Hitch-Hiker

Ray (Edmond O'Brien) and Gilbert's (Frank Lovejoy) fishing trip takes a terrifying turn when the hitchhiker (William Talman) they pick up turns out to be a sociopath on the run from the law. He's killed before, and he lets the two know that as soon as they're no longer useful, he'll kill again. The two friends plot an escape, but the hitchhiker's peculiar physical affliction, an eye that never closes even when he sleeps, make it impossible for them to tell when they can make a break for it.

After witnessing what appears to be a police officer shooting a man in cold blood, detective Johnny Damico (Broderick Crawford) decides to go undercover. Tracing the murder victim to a waterfront crime ring, Damico poses as longshoreman Tim Flynn, and infiltrates the corrupt New York dockworkers union. There he meets union toughs Joe Castro (Ernest Borgnine) and Gunner (Neville Brand), who eventually lead him to crime kingpin Blackie Clegg (Matt Crowley).
