The Return of Sabata
The third in a trilogy about the eponymous lone gunman, this one finds Sabata (Lee Van Cleef) working as a sharpshooter for a circus that's just stopped in an ailing one-horse town. The circus gig is only a front, however: Sabata is actually on the verge of robbing town mayor Joe McIntock (Giampiero Albertini). The mayor's been levying heavy taxes as part of a complex plan to defraud the community, but Sabata manages to rip him off first, only to discover that the money is counterfeit.
A Thunder of Drums
Stationed in an isolated desert outpost, Lt. Curtis McQuade (George Hamilton), an inexperienced cavalry officer, must adjust to his new spartan life under his surly superior, Capt. The Trouble With Angels
Mary (Hayley Mills) and her friend, Rachel (June Harding), are new students at St. Francis Academy, a boarding school run by the iron fist of Mother Superior (Rosalind Russell). The immature teens grow bored and begin playing pranks on both the unsuspecting nuns and their unpleasant classmates, becoming a constant thorn in Mother Superior's side. However, as the years pass, Mary and Rachel slowly mature and begin to see the nuns in a different light.
Penny Serenade
Since marrying Roger Adams (Cary Grant), Julie (Irene Dunne) has wanted to start a family. An accident while she's visiting Japan causes a miscarriage and makes Julie incapable of having children. After they adopt a little girl, Trina (Eva Lee Kuney), Roger's small newspaper folds, and the couple has to fight in court to keep her. Even though they succeed, another tragedy strikes out of nowhere. The Adams' marriage looks headed for divorce, unless something brings them close again.
The 39 Steps
While on vacation in London, Canadian Richard Hannay (Robert Donat) becomes embroiled in an international spy ring related to the mysterious "39 steps." Then he meets agent Annabella Smith (Lucie Mannheim), who is soon killed in his apartment. He must elude the police, who are hunting him for murder, while he tries to stop Professor Jordan (Godfrey Tearle) from sending secrets out of the country. Hannay is assisted by Pamela (Madeleine Carroll), an unwilling accomplice who discovers the truth.
Broadway to Cheyenne
New York City police officer Breezy Kildare (Rex Bell) is shot and wounded by a gangster named Owens (Robert Ellis). Breezy travels to Cheyenne, Wyo., to recuperate at his family's ranch, but is surprised to find Joe Carter (Matthew Betz), a bootlegger from New York, running a speakeasy in Cheyenne with his daughter, Ruth (Marceline Day). Breezy discovers that Carter is working with Owens to make the place a major crime hub. Despite his injury, the lawman sets out to clean up his hometown.
