Never a Dull Moment

While visiting New York, Wyoming cowboy and widower Chris Heyward (Fred MacMurray) falls for Broadway songwriter Kay Kingsley (Irene Dunne), and after a whirlwind romance, the two marry and return to Chris' ranch and two daughters. After a boisterous welcome from the neighbors, including Chris' former girlfriend, Jean (Ann Doran), Kay settles into the demanding work of farm life. However, when Kay attempts to help Chris with a serious water rights issue, she places their new marriage in danger.

How Green Was My Valley

Huw Morgan (Roddy McDowall), the academically inclined youngest son in a proud family of Welsh coal miners, witnesses the tumultuous events of his young life during a period of rapid social change. At the dawn of the 20th century, a miners' strike divides the Morgans: the sons demand improvements, and the father (Donald Crisp) doesn't want to rock the boat. Meanwhile, Huw's eldest sister, Angharad (Maureen O'Hara), pines for the new village preacher, Mr. Gruffydd (Walter Pidgeon).

The Quiet Man

After accidentally killing an opponent in the ring, boxer Sean Thornton leaves America and returns to his native Ireland, hoping to buy his family's homestead and live in peace. In doing so, he runs afoul of Will Danaher, who long coveted the property. Spitefully, Will objects when his fiery sister, Mary Kate, begins a romance with Sean, and refuses to hand over her dowry. Mary Kate refuses to consummate the marriage until Sean retrieves the money.

Three Cheers for the Irish

Retiring police officer Peter Casey (Thomas Mitchell) resents his replacement, Angus Ferguson (Dennis Morgan), a young Scotsman. To help Peter adjust, his daughters, Maureen (Priscilla Lane), Patricia (Virginia Grey) and Heloise (Irene Hervey), suggest he run for alderman. Unknown to Peter, Angus meets Maureen and the two begin courting. Trouble starts when Heloise naively asks a bookie friend to help raise money for Peter's campaign, and Peter discovers a secret between Maureen and Angus.

Hoping to capitalize on a publicity tour by film star April Tremaine (Marjorie Woodworth) from Chicago to Broadway, producer Ivan Ivanski (Leonid Kinskey) decides April should travel with a baby, and he orders his secretary, Patsy Riley (Patsy Kelly), to locate one. A stranger who overhears Patsy telling the plan to an engineer at the train station offers a baby for $500. But, soon after the group boards a train with the infant, news leaks out about the kidnapping of a wealthy family's baby.
