Rio Bravo
When gunslinger Joe Burdette (Claude Akins) kills a man in a saloon, Sheriff John T. Chance (John Wayne) arrests him with the aid of the town drunk, Dude (Dean Martin). Before long, Burdette's brother, Nathan (John Russell), comes around, indicating that he's prepared to bust his brother out of jail if necessary. Chance decides to make a stand until reinforcements arrive, enlisting Dude, an old cripple named Stumpy (Walter Brennan) and baby-faced cowboy Colorado Ryan (Ricky Nelson) to help.
Buchanan Rides Alone
Journeying from Mexico back home to West Texas, mercenary Tom Buchanan (Randolph Scott) takes a break for the night in the border town of Agry. He soon discovers that almost every resident -- from the crooked sheriff (Barry Kelley) to the shifty-eyed innkeeper -- is a member of the prominent Agry family. While trying to seduce a married woman (Paula Prentiss), egotistical concert pianist Henry Orient (Peter Sellers) is interrupted by two precocious schoolgirls, Valerie (Tippy Walker) and Marian (Merrie Spaeth). At first he thinks nothing of it, but as he sees them more often, he becomes convinced they're spies for his lover's husband. The girls, meanwhile, have found out who he is, and Valerie insists she's in love. She starts a scrapbook, which her mother finds and, of course, misconstrues.

Editor Mark Chapman (Broderick Crawford) presides over a trashy but financially successful tabloid newspaper in New York City. With his hotshot crime reporter, Steve McCleary (John Derek), and feature writer, Julie Allison (Donna Reed), Chapman attends a Lonely Hearts Club publicity stunt sponsored by the paper, where he's shocked to run into Charlotte (Rosemary DeCamp), the wife he abandoned two decades before. Their argument takes a violent turn that might ruin everything Chapman has.

Model Sherry Conley (Ginger Rogers) is offered a chance to get out of jail in return for testifying against mobster Benjamin Costain (Lorne Greene).
