In a Lonely Place

Hollywood screenwriter Dixon Steele (Humphrey Bogart) and his neighbor Laurel (Gloria Grahame) are just getting to know each other romantically when the police begin questioning Dixon about his involvement in the murder of a girl he met once. Certain her new love interest is innocent, Laurel stands by Dixon, but as the police continue pressing him, Dixon begins to act increasingly erratically. The blossoming love affair suffers as Laurel begins to wonder if Dixon really might be a killer.

Editor Mark Chapman (Broderick Crawford) presides over a trashy but financially successful tabloid newspaper in New York City. With his hotshot crime reporter, Steve McCleary (John Derek), and feature writer, Julie Allison (Donna Reed), Chapman attends a Lonely Hearts Club publicity stunt sponsored by the paper, where he's shocked to run into Charlotte (Rosemary DeCamp), the wife he abandoned two decades before. Their argument takes a violent turn that might ruin everything Chapman has.

Park ranger Don Bradley (Robert Lowery) is heartbroken when Kay (Ellen Drew), the woman he loves, marries successful businessman Steve Downey (Regis Toomey). But Kay is mortified upon realizing Steve is really a mobster who poses as a respectable type. Even worse, he recently ordered a hit on a government official, and tells Kay that she'll be implicated in the murder if she squeals. A desperate Kay flees to the wilderness and hides out with Don, but Steve and his thugs are close behind.

The Man From Utah

One day, John Weston (John Wayne) helps stop a bank robbery. George Higgins (George Hayes), the town's grateful marshal, asks Weston for his help in solving another crime. It seems someone at a touring rodeo show is killing the top riders before they can take home the trophy -- and the prize money. Weston agrees to investigate and works his way into the show, which is run by the shady Spike Barton (Edward Peil). As Weston gets closer to the truth, he finds himself in even greater danger.
