This time it was for the prosecution team in their rebuttal case accusing Lorena Bobbitt of intentionally and maliciously wounding her husband, John, when she severed his penis and discarded it. It took three different forensic mental health specialists from one psychiatric hospital in Virginia who interviewed Lorena to evaluate her state of mind. They all found no evidence of temporary insanity.

The brother of Yazeed Essa's alleged fixer took the stand. Prosecutors wanted to expose the alleged ring that was orchestrated to help Yazeed flee the country and relocate to avoid extradition. He left the U.S., and his two children, just weeks after the death of Rosemarie, his wife. It allegedly took a number of people and secret operations to help Yazeed Essa flee the U.S. and finally settle in Lebanon. After a nearly two-year international manhunt ensued, the defendant was captured.

The first of Yazeed Essa's many mistresses testified against him in his murder trial. Prosecutors believed he killed his wife, Rosemarie, so he could be exclusively with one of them. The State argued Yazeed didn't want a messy and costly divorce. So, before Dr. Yazeed Essa was a fugitive and accused killer, he was a serial cheater. His defense and several witnesses confirmed that Essa had numerous affairs while married to Rosemarie.

Evidence portraying Yazeed Essa as an adulterer, was presented during his murder trial. That included love letters, info about trips, jewelry, and his former mistress who testified against him. Michelle Stephens, the woman prosecutors believed Yazeed was leaving his wife for, told jurors that he had been promising her that he would leave Rosemarie and move out the family house.

It was more than a love triangle for Yazeed Essa who seemed to be stuck between two main mistresses and his wife who wanted to have a third child. He hired both mistresses and allegedly made promises to each of them that he would end his marriage so they could be exclusive. Michelle Stephens said that in the weeks leading up to Rosemarie's death, Yazeed promised he would leave his wife so the two of them could be together. She told jurors her and the defendant were soul mates.

Dr. Miller Ryans concluded after evaluating the defendant that she chopped off John's penis in a malicious, pre-planned attempt to hurt him. The prosecution team recalled John back to the stand and raised questions on claims Lorena made under oath. They included abortions, forced anal sex, and moments of marital rape. All of which he denied he forced on her.

The jury listened to more details about internet searches done on his computer. Prosecutors were convinced that a digital trail would show that he concocted and carried out a plan to kill his wife, Rosemarie. Secret Service agent Jason Berryhill faced cross-examination. He said he came across internet activity of Yazeed browsing the British Airways website. Prosecutors wanted to show that he devised a plan to leave the country during the investigation into the murder of his wife, Rosemarie.

Prosecutors called in Yazeed Essa's cousin to testify against him this was the fourth cousin who took the stand for the State. They questioned these relatives about the days leading up to Rosmarie's death and what happened later. Yazeed Essa's cousin testified in that the defendant narrowed down the two places in the Middle East he could go when he left the U.S. one of those was Lebanon where he ended up.

A professor of emergency medicine and medical toxicology took the stand. Dr. Christopher Holstege broke down for jurors how much cyanide exposure would end a person's life. When Rosemarie Essa died, she had a fatal amount of the poison in her system. The professor lectured to the jury: Cyanide poisoning causes a number of different arrythmias. That's what makes it tricky, clinically.

The Defense raised hypothetical questions to the medical toxicologist on the stand. The professor Christopher Holstege broke down how Rosemarie Essa was poisoned with lethal amounts of cyanide. The State wasn't done bringing in scientists and medical professionals to try to prove their case that he killed his wife, Rosemarie. Next, a forensic chemist took the stand after the medical toxicologist wrapped up his testimony.
