Dr. Deacon laid it all out for jurors. She noted he had over a dozen bruises and abrasions on him but overall he appeared to be fine physically.

The day before Corey Micciolo died his mother rushed him to an emergency appointment with his pediatrician. On the stand was Corey's doctor who evaluated him and noted a number of bruises he sustained. Dr. Nancy Deacon got emotional when recalling the conversation she had with Corey about the bruises on his body. She kept asking him how he got them but Corey wouldn't answer. This was her attempt to help him if he was, in fact, abused by his own father.

She wanted to know how serious the bruises were on him and whether it was because he was being physically abused by his father, Christopher Gregor.
