This aligned with the State's allegation that the defendant killed him because their relationship became strained.

It was just minutes before he was found in the snow. She told Roberts quote: I'm afraid John might be dead. He might have gotten hit by a plow. He didn't come home last night.

He would be pronounced dead later at a nearby hospital.
