All of his four adult children were panicking and went on a search. Unbeknownst to them at the time, their father was shot to death at home and his remains were burnt up and buried outside.

According his defense, Yazeed giving his wife calcium pills was not evidence that he was looking to fatally poison her.

Steven Bradley stressed the importance of keying on reasonable doubt, which he believed is littered all through the state's case accusing the defendant of killing Rosemarie, his wife of five years. Next, the lead prosecutor, Steven Dever, claimed in their rebuttal argument to jurors that his team began their case as a product tampering one only to tear it down to prove intentional murder.

Two of the defendant's mistresses were considered suspects in the poisoning murder. So, law enforcement brought them in for questioning. Next, prosecutors called in a retired special agent of the FBI. He happened to be a criminal behavior expert who reviewed Yazeed's actions leading up to and after Rosemarie was poisoned to death.

S1, EP87 "The Narcissist"An expert in criminal behavior explained to the jury the nuance in this case that involved Rosemarie Essa, a healthy mom who suddenly died by an undetected and rare poison. The judge allowed prosecutors to bring in this expert to speak on why a person would taint his wife's nine calcium pills and try to evade police. Greg McCrary called Yazeed's behavior leading up to Rosemarie's poisoning death as narcissistic. Next, another homicide detective working this case took the stand.

Detective Dennis Matejcici explained to the jury on how his team eliminated the possibility of Rosemarie's calcium bottle being contaminated with cyanide poisoning. Investigators needed to paint the full picture on why and how Rosemarie's husband could plan her death, attempt to get away with it, and then flee the country as a fugitive as police zeroed in on him as a prime suspect.
